No spoilers from the game were in the picture in question. However, Fils-Aime would quote the 2008 movieTaken, which was originally attributed to actor Liam Neeson’s character, ex-CIA officer Bryan Mills. While the movie has been quoted in various memes before, it served as a veiled threat against the OP for breaking the street release date forTears of the Kingdom. A short time after the tweet, the OP deleted it and their Twitter account, but Fils-Aime preserved the evidence with a screen capture in the replies.
At the time of writing, it is not known if the account was taken down by Twitter at the behest of Nintendo, or by the user’s own accord as a result of theirTears of the Kingdompost. Nevertheless, other Twitter users joined Fils-Aime in roasting the deleted account for bragging about their ill-gotten gains. Some of the replies rehashedFils-Aime’s most memorable quotesto fit the situation.
The situation itself, while unfortunate, served as a reminder to not cross Nintendo when it comes to breaking the street date for its first-party games. WithTears of the Kingdomslated to release digitallyat the same time, only time will tell what awaits players when the game officially releases.
