After taking an accidental screenshot, aWorld of Warcraftplayer admitted that they have a problem with how cluttered and ridiculous their user interface (UI) became during raid nights. The player posted their screenshot on Reddit, with otherWorld of Warcraftplayers across the board relating to the post and wondering whether the raid encounter or the UI was the lesser of the two evils.

Since the early days of the game,World of Warcrafthas been very open when it comes to which modifications players can create and add to customize their UI and give themselves a fresh experience. From simple add-ons that allow players to move different elements of the screen, to ones that are crucial in high-end raids such as the battle againstRaszageth in Mythic Vault of the Incarnates, players of all levels and walks of life have had no shortage of modifications to pick from over the years. However, even the more experiencedWorld of Warcraftplayers can have quite a ludicrous user interface when in the heat of battle.

On the r/wow subreddit, a user named magic6op accidentally took a screenshot while in the middle of abattle against The Primal Councilin the Vault of the Incarnates raid. In the screenshot, magic6op showed remorse for how cluttered and stress-inducing their UI looked to other players, and did not realize at first how much was on the screen. Add-ons such as Deadly Boss Mods, WeakAuras, and Details Damage Meter were among the list that magic6op used when playing as a Windwalker Monk. With the alert text from Deadly Boss Mods covering the center of the screen, several buffs and debuffs overlapping with some target frames on the top right of the UI, and the unit frames from both magic6op’s raid team and the enemies covering a majority of the snowy battlefield, it is just one example of how cluttered the UI ofWorld of Warcraftcan get.

The post from magic6op received over 11k upvotes on r/wow, and served as a cautionary tale of how overwhelmedWorld of Warcraftplayers can get over their own UI. However, in theDragonflightexpansion, some elements that previously required add-ons were made baseline. With furtherupdates coming to the user interface in Patch 10.0.5that allow for more screen elements to be moved at will, Blizzard will keep refining the baseline user interface as time goes on.

With Patch 10.0.5 arriving in just a few days, which will have new forms of content for players to take part in, there will continue to be add-ons made for whatever comes next toWorld of Warcraft.
