World of Warcraftjust implemented a funny fix to some confusion regarding which boat to take in Stormwind to reach the Dragon Isles. This hilarious fix was just one wayWorld of Warcraftis trying to alleviate congestion and mix-ups when startingDragonflight.
Very few MMORPG expansions release with no bumps in the road, andWorld of Warcraftis no different. The highly-anticipatedlaunch ofDragonflighthas been met with server crashes and glitching transportationamong other issues.

However, Alliance players in Stormwind encountered an unexpected problem as well. Theboat to takeWorld of Warcraftplayers toDragonflightis located on the same pier as the one that takes players to Kul Tiras. What’s worse, the two boats use the exact same model, making it painfully easy for players to hop on the wrong ship and end up inBattle for Azeroth. To fix this,World of Warcraftadded a hilarious block of text from the nearby NPC to warn players they’re not heading for the Dragon Isles when they board the boat to Kul Tiras.
This small fix came alongsideWorld of Warcraftadding temporary portals to transport players directly to their destinations.Wrath of the Lich King Classichad similar issueswith players flocking to Northrend, causing them to roll out the same solution. Though the portals are a temporary measure, they do help alleviate foot traffic and enable players to more easily reach the Dragon Isles to experience the new content inDragonflight.
Players got a kick out of the text blockWorld of Warcraftimplemented for the Allianceboat to the Dragon Isles. While effective and funny, it is hardly the solution players expectedWorld of Warcraftto use. Many players couldn’t help but notice Stormwind was running out of dock space and wondered ifWorld of Warcraftwould have to expand the area in future expansions, or if they’d all have to keep sharing the same few piers.
Most players were baffled byWorld of Warcraft’sdecision to place these two boats on the same pier in the first place, especially since the boats share the same model. Players wondered whyWorld of Warcraftdidn’t make a new model for the Dragon Isles boat, or put it on the pier that leads to Northrend, since its model is much older and obviously different. Despite this,World of Warcraft’snew fix does help, as silly as it might seem. Hopefully, the new warning can help players reachthe Dragon Isles inDragonflightfaster and with a little less confusion.
