In 2011, Konami released theMetal Gear Solid HD Collectionfor PS3 and Xbox 360, bringing variousMetal Gear Solidgames to modern platforms. TheMetal Gear Solid HD Collectionincluded the originalMetal Gear,Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake,Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty,Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, andMetal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. A couple of years later, Konami released anotherMetal Gear Solidcollection, this time throwing inMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriotsand download codes forMetal Gear SolidandMetal Gear Solid: VR Missions. Now a rumor says that yet anotherMGScollection could be on the way, though fans should treat it with a massive grain of salt.

This rumor stems from 4chan and the poster provides no evidence to back up their claims, so fans should be highly skeptical. However, there have been legitimate video game leaks from 4chan, like when basically everything to know aboutPokemon SwordandShieldleaked on the forum, so there’s always theslightpossibility that this rumor is accurate. In any case, the crux of the supposed “leak” is that Konami is going to aMetal Gear Solidcollection for the PlayStation 5starting in September.

The first collection will reportedly featureMetal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes,Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, andMetal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. Meanwhile, there will supposedly be a separate release forMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriotson PS5, though the leaker says fans shouldn’t expect the game to really take advantage of the console’s unique features due to the difficulty of porting it from the PS3.

Apparently,Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walkerwill be left out of this collection, butMetal GearandMetal Gear 2will once again be featured. There have been previous rumors of a newMetal Gearcollection, but fans still shouldn’t hold their breath about this.

One of the biggest red flags is the claim thatMetal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakesis going to be a part of this collection.Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakeshas never been re-released for any platforms besides the GameCube, and it waspartly developed by Silicon Knights, a company that no longer exists. One would think that Konami would have portedMetal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakesby now if it had any interest in doing so, and so it being mentioned in this “leak” makes the rest of the information difficult to believe.

While this leak seems unlikely, there are more reliable rumors thatBluepoint Games is doing aMetal Gear Solidremake, though nothing substantial from that supposed project has been revealed either.
