Starlink: Battle for Alasoriginally dropped back in 2018, with the action-adventure sci-fi game seeing players take over the role of a spaceship pilot. The gameplay mostly focused on skimming across expansive planets in large starcrafts, fighting against alien enemies and other forces while completing missions. At release, it was seen as something of a gimmick, with the title initially centering around players purchasing separate, physical toys that could be brought into the game world, taking influence from the likes ofDisney InfinityandLEGO Dimensions.
That being said, critics were quick to heap praise onStarlink, with a number of reviews citing the game’s story as being a lot of fun. Taking place in a fictional star system called Atlas, the player is tasked with fighting back against an evil alien group known as the Forgotten Legion after they fell their mothership and take its captain hostage. From there, the protagonist has to forge alliances with other alien factions in an effort to battle back against the Forgotten Legion and its intimidating leader Grax. The Nintendo Switch version of the game even includeda crossover with theStar Foxseries, with Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy all showing up to lend the player a hand.
Those wanting togiveStarlinka go for themselvescan do so by heading to the Ubisoft website, creating an account, and redeeming a copy today. Be warned though, the title won’t be around for long, so those wanting to make sure they secure their version should head over ASAP. Tomorrow morning, a new gift will be made available for Ubisoft fans, so it’s worth keeping an eye on the website every day until Friday when the “Happy Holidays” event comes to a close.
