Lore Friendly Economy was one of the most popular mods forThe Witcher 3, and its next-gen update is available now from Nexus Mods. The mod’s primary function is to bring the economy ofThe Witcher 3more in line with the books. As the mod’s original creator explained, theWitchernovels emphasized how Geralt routinely struggles to make ends meet, often going hungry as he wanders the Continent as a traveling Witcher. However, it’s not hard forThe Witcher 3’s Geralt to end up rolling in gold. The Lore Friendly Economy mod attempts to fix this inconstancy.

The mod leaves quest rewards alone but dramatically reduces the buying and selling price foritems inThe Witcher 3. Merchants will also pay very little for junk items or not accept them at all. While a few items may still bring in thousands of gold pieces, they are rare, mostly found later in the game, and players must explore to find them. The purpose of this is to bring gold from loot into line with the rewards players get from side quests, thereby making the quest rewards much more significant. Loot prices also scale to the quest rewards in an area, so looting can still be worthwhile.
