Just recently, the company has put out a press release focusing hard on their ‘Kids and Family’ content, with a host of confirmations, renewals, and announcements. The full list is worth looking at for those interested in WarnerMedia’s output, but one project, in particular, will catch the eye ofThe Amazing World of Gumballfans.
Those who havewatched Cartoon Networkin recent years may recognizeThe Amazing World of Gumballas one of the service’s more successful cartoons. Blending cartoon antics with surreal humor and a wide variety of animation styles,the series focuses on Gumball Watterson and his best friend Darwin as they get involved in nonsense at school, at home, and in their surrounding neighborhood.

The show has been running successfully for about 6 seasons, and there are no currentplans for it to end anytime soon.Gumballhas managed to attract a diverse fanbase ranging from kids who enjoy the colorful characters and lighthearted slapstick, all the way to adults who appreciate the bold animation variety and occasional adult jokes.
So, it’s not a huge surprise to seeWarnerMedia continuing to invest in the property, not only with a variety of miniseries', but also with the announcement of a full feature film based on the IP. Show creator Ben Bocquelet has mused in the past that he had several ideas about how to turn the show into a film, and it seems his wish has come true, as the recent WarnerMedia update confirms the development of just such a project.
That said, there isn’t a whole lot of info to chew on yet. With the working title ofThe Amazing World of Gumball Movie, the film was announced to be in development and the press release says it will be based on the hit show, confirming the project’s existence, but not what it will be about or when to expect it.
Still, it’s an exciting prospect for fans oftheGumballshow, who can now look forward to seeing more news as the project begins to take shape. Hopefully, the final product lives up to the reputation of the show, and fans get the chance to take a look at it sooner rather than later.
