A new crossover event withDevil May Cryhas been revealed for the popular mobile fighting gameStreet Fighter: Duel.Street Fighteris one of the most iconic fighting game series in the history of gaming. Since the worldwide release ofStreet Fighter: Duelin February of this year, the iOS and Android-based mobile game has given the essence of the iconic series to an active community of over 4 million registered players worldwide. A collaboration between Capcom, TopJoy, and Crunchyroll Games, the game has the reach to synergize with some of the biggest series and IPs in the world.
Crunchyroll Games has confirmed to Game Rant that there is a two-week event slated for May 2023 in whichStreet Fighter: Duelis crossing over with theDevil May Cryuniverse. Described as the “Devil Invasion” event,Street Fighter: Duel’s newest update is set to collide withthe wider world ofDevil May Cryand with 2019’sDevil May Cry 5in particular. With a sinister tree that may just beDMC 5’s Qliphoth taking root in the world ofStreet Fighter, the event is set to include special limited-time missions, shop items, cosmetics, and—most importantly—Dante himself as an unlockable fighter.

Crunchyroll Games has confirmed that the two-week Devil Invasion event is set to run from May 11 through May 24. The event is set to include missions and exploration that will give players limited-time event currency, while rewarding players with extra chances for general resources to upgrade existing fighters, with the specifics of Dante’s gameplay also promising to take inspirations fromthe style ofDevil May Cry.
Once unlocked, Dante is described as having unique combat playstyle, including the ability to transform into a powerful form with his Devil Trigger ability as well as the EX-move, “Power Smash,” which is designed to disrupt close-by enemies and, as teased by Crunchyroll and Capcom “add a new layer of depth to combat.” Weaving into the event’s narrative of Danteriding in on his motorcycleto help Ryu and Chun-Li thwart M. Bison’s plans to harvest the Qliphoth tree, the event is set to be a major presence players will not want to miss out on.
It hardly needs to be said thatStreet Fighterisn’t new to the world of high-profile crossovers. With last August marking35 years since the original releaseofStreet Fighterin Japan, the fighting juggernaut has punched its mark into everything from the PS2 cult-classicNamco x Capcom, toSuper Smash Bros., toTekkenand more. With Crunchyroll also hosting the 2007Devil May Cryanime series as well as the 90s western-animatedStreet Fighter 2Saturday morning cartoon on streaming, fans might want to brush up on their lore before the action begins.
