According to sources close to The Sun, these talks are still in their preliminary stages, and it is still unclear whether Disney will offer her a contract anytime soon. At this time, Brown has a number of projects lined up on her IMDb page, includingEnola Holmes2,Damsel,The Girls I’ve Been With, andThe Thing About Jellyfish. Additionally, Brown is still fully occupied withStranger Things, so Disney may want to revisit these discussions once she is no longer committed to a major franchise. Given her busy schedule, it could be months before Disney makes Brown’s involvement in aStar Warsproject official.
Some fans have thrown out the idea that Brown should playa young Princess Leiaor some relative of her supposed lookalike, Natalie Portman’s Padme Amidala. But there is a higher likelihood that she will be cast as a new character since recasting iconic figures can often be challenging to get right. Kennedy herself has indicated that Lucasfilm will be moving away from that in the future in order to focus on bringing new names into theStar Warsuniverse.
Brown rose to stardom thanks to her portrayal of Eleven, the telekinetic heroine ofNetflix’s hit TV showStranger Things. She has easily become one of the most recognizable faces of the franchise, making her a highly marketable choice for producers today.
