Nazeem is aSkyrimNPC that many players consider to be annoying based on his mocking of the Dragonborn, and a number ofSkyrimfans have taken out their anger on the character as a result. Recently, oneSkyrimplayer discovered a strange issue with Nazeem when they happened upon the NPC flinging around in circles in midair.

Reddit user MeanCherry_o3o recently posted a clip of their latestSkyrimplaythrough in which they are inWhiterunnear the wall of the city as they stare up at the sky at a visibly alive and “conscious” Nazeem. The Nazeem in the video seems to be affected by a bug of some sort as despite retaining a large health pool, the character is stuck in the sky and is swiftly flailing in place. The character flips and spins countless times several feet above a part of Whiterun’s surrounding wall in front of MeanCherry_o3o in the clip, with some movements barely visible with the naked eye.

Skyrimplayers are known for targeting Nazeem for some of his lines of dialogue, with one fan stating that they plan to kill the NPC every day between now and the future release ofThe Elder Scrolls 6and another flinging Nazeem into the sky using aGiant Club mod. Characters like Nazeem have been a staple inThe Elder Scrollsseries for a while as open worlds need disagreeable characters as well as positive ones, withOblivionnotably featuring the Adoring Fan. Some of Nazeem’s familiar lines inSkyrimare, “I actually advise the Jarl on political matters. My input is invaluable, of course. But this is all probably a bit over your head,” and “Do you have anything even remotely fresh?”

Adding to the plight of Nazeem in MeanCherry_o3o’s video is the rain that pours from the sky onto the NPC, showing one of a few weather effects programmed into the game by Bethesda Softworks. MeanCherry_o3o video showsSkyrim’s Nazeemfreaking out in the sky above Whiterun for 16 seconds, but the NPC may have continued to react in this strange way for much longer in their playthrough. Because NPCs that are killed inSkyrimstay dead, and dragon skeletons stay where they were defeated, MeanCherry_o3o’s Nazeem may be permanently glitched.

Although MeanCherry_o3o doesn’t seem to have caused Nazeem’s buggy reaction, their character has enough gear to suggest that they’ve begun the main campaign and may have access to the Unrelenting Force shout.Skyrimfans acquire this shout by meeting theGreybeards of High Hrothgarafter defeating the first dragon in the game, which is encountered near the city of Nazeem. OneSkyrimfan responding to MeanCherry_o3o’s clip suggests that the player should send Nazeem to the Cloud District for how often he talks about it, while others simply delight in his suffering.

Skyrimis available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
