Summary
A ship is probably the main thing players wouldn’t want to be without when traversing the dangers of the universe inStarfield, but one interesting glitch leads to a player becoming lost in space after their ship seemingly abandons them.Starfieldis still no stranger to bugs, with players sharing quite a few hilarious technical issues in the game since it was released in September, though it nonetheless represents one of Bethesda’s most solid launches to date.
Starfieldwould have a lot less charm if it didn’t allow players to explore the universe in their very own ships, and new players will invariably find themselves behind the flight controls of a Discovery-class starship just a handful of minutes after creating their characters. There’s a lot to be said aboutStarfield’s many types of ships, but players are able to fully customize and upgrade the systems of their very own ships quite early into the game if they have enough credits. Ship customization quickly became one of the community’s favorite parts of the game and has allowed creative fans to build some mind-blowing designs, whether they’ve just enhanced the look of the Frontier or redecorated a stolen pirate ship.

Unfortunately, certain ships seem to come with their own range of issues, namely enemy ships that are commandeered by the player. Many fans have experienced all sorts of bugs withcaptured ships inStarfield, but one clip captured and shared by the user Barsidious_White of Reddit shows them opening a space station’s airlock and promptly stepping into the cold void of space after their docked starship seemingly disappears. This bug is puzzling but is apparently quite rare, with the player just falling endlessly through space after loading out of the space station. Some fans have linked this instance to a bug that sometimes causes captured ships to fly off without the player after exiting them, an issue that has caused trouble for quite a few fans in the past.
A common solution to this issue is to try heading to a ship services technician and switching ships, though this would seem to be something of a temporary solution and is still far from ideal. This isanother ofStarfield’s bugswhich will hopefully be ironed out in a future patch, though fans have reported plenty of other frustrating technical issues, some of which are quite common and can even impede progress in certain quest lines. It would seem Bethesda is aware of many of these issues, so players can only hope that some substantial fixes aren’t far away at this point.
Starfieldhas received fairly regular patchesand small updates from its makers over the couple of months since the game’s launch. While this support has rectified a few bugs and improved overall stability, certain glitches and regular crashes continue to be an issue for some players who hope to see fixes in the near future.
