Starfieldplayerswho spend time in Cydoniamay hear about Mitch Benjamin, a man who needs some help. Mitch has recently discovered that his favorite book series,Dragonstar Force, had a limited first edition run, but he needs someone who can travel off-planet to collect them.
This mission is very repetitive, since Mitch always sends players after one book at a time and there aren’t many places to find them. Still, a dedicatedStarfieldplayer who plays this mission all the way to the end will get a set of interesting books they can display in an outpost or on a starship.

Where to Find the Books
Each time players tell Mitch they’re ready to find anotherDragonstar Forcebook, he’ll send them to one of two locations. Either it’sthe Trade Authority building in the Well of New Atlantis, or it’s the Trade Authority contact in the bar at Hopetown.
In both cases, players can’t ask the Trade Authority merchant about the book. Instead, they can find it in the Notes section of their inventory. The book isn’t very expensive, and players will always get more money from Mitch than the cost of the book. Like other quests, the exact number of credits depends on the player’s current level. Players can also get a bonus by passing a four-step Persuade attempt, and each time players retrieve a book they always get 100 XP.

How Many Dragonstar Force Books Are There?
While this mission is extremely repetitive, players may notice that each time they do it they get aDragonstar Forcebook with a different number and a different description of the contents. Because of this, there’s a hard limit on how many times players can repeat this quest, unlike open-ended missionssuch as “Tourists Go Home"or “Run the Red Mile.”
In total, there are 30Dragonstar Forcebooks in the game. Once players collect all 30, Mitch will say his collection is complete, and he no longer needs more copies. Players should also have their own set ofDragonstar Forcebooks since Mitch always gives up his regular editions as part of the mission reward.
The description of each book is something of a parody of long-running fantasy and sci-fi series. The fifth book is the “finale” of the series only for it to keep going, the stakes keep ramping up until they include multiple dimensions and time travel, every major character switches sides at least once, the protagonist eventually dies and gets replaced by his son, and in the end the author dies andhisson writes book 30 to conclude the series.
Still, while theDragonstar Forcenovels describe a long and complicated story, the “Media Sponge” mission never becomes more complex than heading to another settlement and buying a book. The novels are the only unique reward for completing this mission, so only completionists need to bother with doing so.
