Splitgateis a very fun and well-designed FPS shooter that mixes the best of old genre legends from the day such asCall of DutyandHalo. Unlike many popular FPS games,Splitgatedoesn’t try to appeal to the masses and keeps a barebones content system in place that is refined, fun, and has replay value.

This isn’t to say thatSplitgatedoesn’t have enough content. Not at all, there are many modes that players can try out and a reasonable handful of weapons that gives players a clearer path to mastery. Lockdown is one mode that players can enjoy, which itself is basically a mixture of Hardpoint and Domination fromCall of Duty. Choose To Be Unpredictable
Players who fall into the “lone wolf” category will no doubt want to do their own thing, killing opponents to help the team but largely having a solo experience, going their own routes and seeking the enemy out without backup. This can be very effective, even against coordinated opponents, as the unpredictable nature of a player attempting to solo them can take them by surprise or distract them long enough for the lone wolf’s team to come in and save the day. Choose To Be Coordinated

Players should make sure that they don’t get too comfortable while holding down a Hill, as sooner or later it will move. In this case, it is better for a team to instead take the other two objectives and know that when the Hills change location the opposing team will be forced to move out of their spot and travel, making it easier to cut them off.
Travel Fast
Splitgateis a veryfast-paced gamein general, so players will likely not be surprised that they need to be moving quickly when in a round of Lockdown. Not only are there three objectives to take across relatively small maps, but the Hills locations change every so often, forcing players to move.

The portal mechanic exists to help players travel quicker as well as being able to get an added line of sight onto an enemy.Players who are not familiar enough with using the portal mechanic may find themselves lagging behind, as generally, the competition is harder in objective-based game modes.
Take The Right Power Weapons
Power weapons pop up in games ofSplitgateevery couple of minutes, offering an advantage to the first player to pick them up.As a result, the areas holding power weapons tend to see a lot of action. It is unwise for any player to avoid the power weapons completely, but they should take care to take the right one depending on the situation. WhileallSplitgateweaponsare useful, the power weapons are the best.
For example, if an objective is a tight, narrow corner of the map that the player has to go into before being able to see any enemies, they would be best off not taking the sniper rifle due to everybody being in proximity. They could take a rocket launcher, but then they’d have to be careful about whether it kills them along with their opponents. Players should take power weapons that fit their play style and the situation they’re in to get the best out of them.
Map Awareness Is Crucial
Map awareness is important in any mode ofSplitgate, any FPS game for that matter. However, it is doubly crucial in a game mode such as Lockdown. Multiple objectives moving around the map means that opponents can come from anywhere and no area is safe from the fighting, so players will want to avoid getting blindsided.
