The recent tie-in prequel comic forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2hints at a new location in the upcoming sequel. Even thoughSpider-Man 2is set to launch this fall, very little is currently known about the game as of this writing. Both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be playable this time, and they will reportedly face off against classic villains like Venom and Kraven the Hunter in a continuation of the plot Insomniac began inMarvel’s Spider-ManandSpider-Man: Miles Morales. Both these games were highly praised thanks to their writing and gameplay, and part of the latter was allowing fans to swing, climb and jump across amassive open-world version of New York Cityfilled with hidden collectibles to find and random street crimes to prevent. However, the originalMarvel’s Spider-Manwas somewhat limited to the larger Manhattan Island. 2020’sSpider-Man: Miles Moralesadded Harlem to Spidey’s patrol area, and fans hope thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2will further improve the game world by giving players new sections of the city to explore.RELATED:Spider-Man 2 Game Gets Launch Window Update From SonyThis wish might be granted if the recently-releasedMarvel’s Spider-Man 2tie-in comic is anything to go by. This short comic book was released this weekend, and while it doesn’t reveal much about the current state ofInsomniac’s growing Marvel gaming universe, it does show Peter and Mary Jane grilling in the backyard of Aunt May’s house in Forrest Hills, Queens. This has led some to speculate that the famed borough will be explored inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Toward the end ofSpider-Man: Miles Morales, Peter revealed that he planned on moving back into his childhood home in Queens after being evicted from his Manhattan apartment inMarvel’s Spider-Man. Said apartment was a prominent location in the first game, andthe holiday-centricSpider-Man: Miles Moraleshad players frequently return to the apartment that Miles and his mother reside in during key plot moments. As such, it would stand to reason thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2could set part of its plot in Queens, with some eagle-eyed fans noticing a quick reference to the neighborhood in theMarvel’s Spider-Man 2teaser trailer that was released back in 2021.

Queens is an integral part of theSpider-Manmythos, and it would provideMarvel’s Spider-Man 2players with even more rooftops to explore and landmarks to uncover should it be included in the game. Like many aspects ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, this recent hint of a new location is just speculation at this point, though fans will likely get more concrete answers to the many questions they have as the game nears its reported release this fall.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is scheduled to release in fall 2023 for PS5.
