And while some quests may only give subpar rewards, some can be worthwhile since they give powerful equipment that’ll make players the ultimate Dragonborn. One such side quest that players should complete inSkyrimis that of"Caught in a Web,“which rewards the Ice Blade of the Monarch and Fists of Randagulf. But, completing this side quest can prove a little tricky without proper guidance, so players do well in following this helpful guide.

Find Adonato Leotelli At Candlehearth Hall

To start the side quest, players will need to travel to the icy city of Windhelm. Once inside Windhelm, players should enter Candlehearth Hall, which is in front of the main gates of Windhelm. Players should then read Adonato Leotelli’s journal. To find it, head upstairs inside Candlehearth Hall, where the journal is located on a table.

Adonato Leotelli’s journal talks about some renowned warriors (Grenwulf the Brawler and Holrik Frost-Sword) who sat down beside him and argued about which was the better warrior. So, to settle the dispute, they set their way to Cronvangr Cave, where a powerful spider dwells in its depths. But, three weeks have passed, and none of them have returned, which leads him to believe they have perished.

Once read, the side quest “Caught in a Web” will officially begin, and now players can move on to the next step of the side quest. Depending on the player’s level, this quest can prove challenging, so players should bring along J’zargo or Teldryn Sero who areamong the best companions inThe Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

Travel To Cronvangr Cave And Defeat The Web Mother

Players will need to travel to Cronvangr Cave, southwest of Windhelm or east of Mixwater Mill. The cave’s exterior is aesthetically unique as it’s decorated with dozens of spider eggs and a giant mammoth caught in a web. Players can make their way inside, where they’ll first encounter six Frostbite Spiders in a large open room.

There are several paths in Cronvangr Cave, but players should go toward the path that is covered with spider webs. Continuing down the path with spider webs will lead to an area with eight Frostbite Spiders. After defeating the Frostbite Spiders, players should continue their way deeper into the cave until they arrive at a large open area with the Web Mother boss and several other Frostbite Spiders. During the fight, two spirits will help the Dragonborn: Holrik Frost-Sword and Grenwulf the Brawler (who wields a mighty fist gauntlet).

Quest Completion

Once defeated, Holrik Frost-Sword and Grenwulf the Brawler will head over to their bodies and tell the player to take their belongings. Grenwulf’s body will haveFists of Randagulf, which has the Enchantments:Melee and unarmed attacks do 20% more damage and Block 20% more damage. And Holrik will have the unique swordIce Blade of the Monarchwith the Enchantment:Target takes 30 points of frost damage to Health and Stamina.
