After several delays, horror-themedScornhits Xbox Game Pass in time for the Halloween season. It’s an atmospheric science fiction puzzle shooter with themes inspired by famed artist H.R Giger. It might not be in the same vein as aResident Evilgameor even the upcomingDead Spaceremake, but there’s enough grotesque horror to keep fans entertained for up to eight hours if they are looking for something a little different.

Scornis a challenging title that can surprise even veteran players of survival horror. There isa checkpoint systemto mark important points in the game’s story. While this can help in certain situations, there is criticism for being too unforgiving and forcing players back to the beginning of each act. Thankfully, itisn’t a long game, but having to redoScorn’s puzzlesagain can be tedious without a manual save.

Unfortunately,Scorndoes not have a manual save feature. Players have to rely on the game’s built-in checkpoint system. The checkpoint system is probably designed to give players a challenge by adding to thesurvival horrorfeel, but for many players, this can add a sense of frustration. Especially as the corridors can be too long, colorless, and repetitive, and having to backtrack to the beginning of certain levels can artificially drag theScorn’s campaign on for longer than needed.
How To Use Quick Resume
The lack of a manual save feature also makes it difficult for players that are short on time. Quitting the game would usually force players to restart the game in most cases. However, thanks to theQuick Resumefeature on the Xbox Series X/S, players can leave their game, start a new one or switch off the console one can return to the game whenever they want to.
Quick Resume isn’t a save feature, but it’s the best solution available for players that can be short on time or need to take a break fromScorn’s endless corridors of slimy brown and yellow, taking advantage of this useful Xbox Series X/S feature is the best solution.
Having a punishing checkpoint system appears to be a deliberate choice of the designers, and givenScorn’s relatively short length, it’s unlikely that the game will get patched in the future. So the best solution for players short on time is to rely on Quick Resume.
