The original plan for theEvil Deadfranchise was to create a follow-up to Fede Alvarez’s 2013 reboot/sequel and then incorporate a crossover of Bruce Campbell’s original films. However, that vision was completely abandoned for an entirely new storyline, withThe Hole in the Ground’s Lee Cronin now signed on to write and direct. It’s terrifying, and it’s going to knock people’s socks off.”
Raimi’s sign-off and praise ofEvil Dead Riseis promising, especially since many fans are still a bit disappointed due to the apparent lack of Campbell’s Ash Williams in the film.
