Pokemon Home’s announcement in 2019 was a major step forward for the franchise. The app, which is available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, offers a free cloud solution for collecting Pokemon across multiple different games in the franchise. There’s been a problem since, however, which is that Game Freak hasn’t updatedPokemon Hometo support more recent games in thePokemonfranchise. That may be changing soon, however, as a Nintendo Insider is hinting at an update arriving as soon as April.

Nintendo Insider SamusHunter2 shared their report on Twitter, stating that they were told recently thatPokemon Homewould soon be updated for multiple recently releasedPokemongames. The list of games to be added in the update includes bothPokemon Brilliant DiamondandPokemon Shining Pearl, the two most obvious choices. The remakes ofPokemon DiamondandPokemon Pearlare both highly demanded inclusions onPokemon Home.

In what is certain to come as a surprise to manyPokemonfans, the report also claims thatPokemon Legends: Arceuswill be supported onPokemon Home. This is unexpected becausePokemon Legends: Arceusfeatures a completely unique system for catching and collecting Pokemon compared to other games in the series. It’s comparatively very easy to catch manyPokemon in the game. Connecting that to thePokemoneconomy in other games is surprising to hear.

For those unfamiliar with the concept,Pokemon Homeis a cloud storage system for collecting Pokemon across multiple games. It currently connects to games includingPokemon SwordandShield,Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu!andEevee,Pokemon GO, and also the Pokemon Bank app and the3DSPokemongamesthe bank connects to. It’s free to use, but is extremely limited – 30 Pokemon in total can be stored. The Premium option costs $16 a year and allows for 6,000 Pokemon to be stored.

Of course, there’s no official confirmation thatPokemon Brilliant DiamondorPokemon Shining Pearl, let alonePokemon Legends: Arceus, will be added toPokemon Homeyet. This is just a rumor until an announcement is made or aPokemoneventis confirmed. SamusHunter 2 is historically reliable for this kind of news, however.

It seems like it has always been just a matter of time beforePokemon Brilliant DiamondandPokemon Shining Pearlwere added toPokemon Home.Pokemon Legends: Arceuswill be a nice surprise if it’s added, too. It also should be mentioned that it’s frustrating that these games didn’t receivePokemon Homesupport closer to launch, if not at launch. Still, it’s better late than never if they do add support. Here’s hopingPokemon ScarletandPokemon Violetare connected toPokemon Homeearlier than their predecessors.
