FromSoftware is yet to reveal DLC plans forElden Ring, but it looks like the developer is working on an expansion based on the game’s colosseums.Elden Ringlaunched in February 2022 to critical acclaim, and it’s currently thehighest-rated game of 2022, as well as the PS5 and Xbox Series X generation.Elden Ringreceived a new update a few days ago that introduced several balance changes, including buffs to magic spells. It also added separate damage scaling for PvP, allowing FromSoftware to balance both PvE and PvP individually. This new patch lowered the attack power of Ashes of War in PvP across the board while increasing poise damage for every weapon’s normal moves. It seems like update 1.07 forElden Ringalso came with new assets that hint at an upcoming DLC.RELATED:Elden Ring Players Are Still Forgetting To Level VigorAs reported by Video Games Chronicle, a modder named Sekiro Dubi has found traces of the new content coming toElden Ringin this patch. Sekiro Dubi claims to have found new map files, assets, and textures based onElden Ring’s colosseum. They also make note of a new hairstyle, map files, and other subtle changes that are set to come in this expansion. Furthermore, Sekiro Dubi has shared an image showing a massive untextured gate to go along with the tweet.
Sekiro Dubi is the same individual whorestored functionality to a colosseum inElden Ringback in April. They even found a Site of Grace inside this area, hinting that it may have been cut from the main game, or that FromSoftware had already started work on DLC. It looks like information found back then was correct in suggesting that future DLC may feature an arena.
Rumors of anElden Ringmultiplayer DLCfeaturing these colosseums have been floating around for a while now. However, fans will have to wait for FromSoftware to officially announce it to get more concrete details. It’s unknown if these arenas will only be used for PvP or PvE encounters, or if they will be a part of a larger expansion pack.
Elden Ringis a massive game, with tens of hours of both main story and optional content. The map is huge, and it probably has more regions, levels, and bosses than any other game in FromSoftware’s catalog. However, many players have likely finished their playthroughs, so this DLC may convince them to jump back intothe world ofElden Ringonce again.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
