Rumor: Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Has Zombies, But Reveal Will Come Later

Activision and Treyarch finally announced thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris getting an official reveal later this month, giving players a first look at the next game in the series. As players anticipatewhat to expect fromCold War, some sources have begun to speculate on what might be coming to the game and whether or not it will be shown at the announcement on August 26.

One insider, in particular, Owner and CEO of Viral Junkie Tom Henderson, went to twitter to share the prospects of a zombie mode coming toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Henderson has not revealed his source, to protect whoever revealed this new information, so while the news may have heavy implications for whatActivision has planned forCold War, it must be taken with a grain of salt.

According to Henderson, the nextCall of Dutywill have a zombie mode, although it will be announced at a later date thanActivision’s plannedBlack Ops Cold Warrevealcoming later this month. So, fans shouldn’t necessarily hold their breath for the zombie announcement, as it will likely be getting its own dedicated reveal later in the year before the game releases. However, that does also mean that if there is no zombie reveal in the first look at the game, it doesn’t necessarily remove the possibility of the popular game mode coming with the nextCall of Duty.

Considering how popular these zombie modes have become, with players anticipating how the next title canimproveCall of Duty’s zombies, Treyarch has a market for this game mode. Zombie modes have almost become their own game at this point, with previous titles in the series creating full campaigns to go along with the mindless shooting of the game mode. If that same progress is continuing inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, then that means that a dedicated announcement for the zombie mode will likely be on its way before the game launches later this year.

Fans of the zombie modes in the previousCall of Dutytitles, especially those who were disappointed by a lack of the game mode inModern Warfare, should still keep an eye on theupcomingCold Warreveal. While there might not be an official announcement, it’s possible that the reveal will have hints of this upcoming game mode, and may lay out future plans for more announcements for game modes like zombies.
