All Elite Wrestling, or AEW, had its first show back in 2019. While the company is still considered young by many fans, it is beginning to put out more and more content besides wrestling shows. Already, a mobile game entitledAEW: Elite General Managerhas been released, and now the promotion is working on a console wrestling title known asAEW Fight Forever. The game was first unveiled back in 2020 with a short gameplay demo. Since then, details onAEW Fight Foreverhave been showing up sporadically, but it appears to many that the game is still a work in progress.Thetitle forAEW Fight Foreverwas only confirmed in April this year, for example. However, despite rumors of a turbulent development, it seems that both developer Yuke’s andAEW Fight Forever’spublisher THQ Nordic is planning to release the game some time in 2022. Also, it seems that the title could be coming to Switch, according to a recent Amazon UK listing. Of course, an Amazon listing isn’t official confirmation of the game coming to Nintendo Switch, and there are a few peculiarities with the information as well. The Xbox One isn’t listed among the consoles thatAEW Fight Foreverwill be available on, for example.
Also, Amazon has given the game a placeholder release date of Jun 14, 2025. However, fans shouldn’t expect this to be the actualrelease date forAEW Fight Foreverbecause a lot of websites, including Amazon and the PlayStation Store, will give games a December 31 release date as a placeholder when the actual launch time is unknown or vague. Currently,AEW Fight Foreverfans are still told to expect a 2022 release, but this is subject to change.
Beyond a potential Switch release,AEW Fight Forever’slisting also gives fans some details on what they can expect from the upcoming game. Online co-op, exploding barbed wire death matches, and more will be available inAEW Fight Foreveralongside a nostalgic feelprovided by Yuke’s.
