Production on theResident Evilmovie reboot is in full swing, with the upcoming film set to be an accurate adaptation of the video game source material. VariousResident Evilmovie set photos have started appearing online, confirming that the upcomingResident Evilmovie reboot is going to great lengths to recreate the look of Raccoon City from theResident Evil 2game.

The newResident Evilmovie set photos show locations like Kendo’s Gun Shop and Emmy’s Diner, two iconic locations featured at the beginning of theResident Evil 2video game. In theResident Evil 2video game, Claire Redfield visits Emmy’s Diner, and that’s where she is first attacked by zombies. Luckily, she is saved by rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy, though it doesn’t take long for the two to wind up separated inpost-apocalyptic Racoon City.

Kendo’s Gun Shop, meanwhile, is operated by Robert Kendo, a good friend ofResident Evil 1character Barry Burton. Kendo’s Gun Shop is featured in bothResident Evil 2andResident Evil 3, and so it’s a location that should be very familiar to longtime fans of Capcom’s survival-horror franchise. In any case, the inclusion of both Kendo’s Gun Shop and Emmy’s Diner is a confirmation that fans can expect these beginning sequences of theResident Evil 2video game to be recreated in the upcoming movie reboot.

So far, theResident Evilmovie reboot seems to be focusing mainly onResident Evil 2, though we know thatResident Evil 1characters are also set to be included in the film.Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine have already been castin theResident Evilmovie reboot, as has Albert Wesker, and so it will be interesting to see how they’re incorporated into the story. Perhaps the film will feature Chris and Jill in the mansion while simultaneously showing Leon and Claire in Raccoon City. However, that’s just speculation at this time, as more specificResident Evilmovie reboot plot details have yet to be revealed.

Another majorResident Evil 1character is rumored to be part of theResident Evilmovie reboot in the form ofLisa Trevor. Lisa Trevor’s story is closely linked to that of the mansion from the firstResident Evilgame, so it would be a bold choice to have her featured in Raccoon City instead.

With theResident Evilmovieaiming for a 2021 release date, more concrete information on the plot should come to light sooner rather than later.
