Official information onPokemon Scarlet and Violethas been slow, with Game Freak and Nintendo only releasing two trailers promoting the new games so far. The first trailer gave fans a glimpse of the new region and confirmed thePokemon Scarlet and Violetstarter Pokemon, while the second trailer revealed more new Pokemon and confirmed the box art legendaries. The secondPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer released over a month ago at this point, and so fans are growing impatient for an update on the games.

WhilePokemon Scarlet and Violetfans wait for more official information on the new games, leaks about the titles and what they will entail have been hitting the Internet on a near-daily basis. Some of thesePokemon Scarlet and Violetleaks come from reputable sources, whereas others come from leakers who have a spottier track record. Some of thePokemon Scarlet and Violetleaks have been proven to be fake as well, so fans should take any leaks with a massive grain of salt.

One of the most frequent sources ofPokemon Scarlet and Violetleaksis CentroLeaks on Twitter. The latest claims suggest thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill be introducing a surprising evolution for a Generation 1 Pokemon.

TheGeneration 1 Pokemon games featured Mankeyand its evolved form Primeape, with no new evolutions introduced for them ever since. However, if CentroLeaks' information is accurate, it seems as thoughPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill be introducing a new evolution for Primeape. Furthermore, it’s claimed that Primeape’s evolution inPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill actually be a dual fighting/ghost-type Pokemon, which is interesting, to say the least.

Again, fans should take the information with a big grain of salt before getting too excited about the possibility of a Primeape evolution inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, this wouldn’t be the first time that aPokemongame introduced a new evolution for a previously-established Pokemon. In fact, the Generation 4Pokemongames,Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, introduced fresh evolutions for a number of Generation 1 Pokemon, and so who’s to sayScarlet and Violetcan’t do the same when they release later this year.

ThePokemon Scarlet and Violetrelease date has been confirmed for November 18, and so fans can expect Nintendo to ramp up marketing for the games in the months ahead. There will assuredly be more trailers and big reveals in store that should either legitimize some of the leaks or prove them to be inaccurate.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetlaunch November 18, exlcusively for the Nintendo Switch.
