Summary
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s The Indigo Disk DLC was released alongside a total of seven new critters, with the eighth and final one being the Mythical Pokemon Pecharunt, added today with the epilogue for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero expansion pack. While Pecharunt isshiny-locked inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, much like players expected after news broke of the returning Legendaries via Snacksworth’s quests also being unavailable as shinies, this doesn’t mean that every new pocket monster in the second DLC should suffer the same fate. Things could change further down the line, but there is one big way for Game Freak to announce a new way how the Paradox mons Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt, Iron Boulder, and Iron Crown can all be obtained as shinies.
After the announcement that Gen 9 was adding two new Paradox Pokemon in the form of Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, respectively based on Suicune and Virizion, players grew excited at the prospect of these being hints toward both a Johto and an Unova game coming next. These new critters were also highly anticipated due to the fact that they could mean Paradox Entei, Raikou, Terrakion, and Cobalion were also in the works - which was the case with The Indigo Disk. Now, there are two big ways for Game Freak to make thenew Indigo Disk Pokemonavailable in their shiny forms.

How Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk’s Paradox Legendaries Could Be Available as Shinies
Pokemon Johto and Unova Games Could Have Shiny Legendary Beasts and Swords of Justice
The first way that Game Freak could eventually allow players to get shiny Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt, Iron Boulder, and Iron Crown (and possibly Walking Wake and Iron Leaves too) is to actuallyrelease bothPokemonJohto and Unova games next. The Paradox versions of the Legendary Beasts (Entei, Raikou, and Suicune) could be available in a Johto game set in the past, whereas the Paradox Swords of Justice (Terrakion, Cobalion, and Virizion) could be found in a futuristic setting for aPokemonUnova game.
This approach would kill two birds with one stone, giving players their dream games, while also making these Gen 9 Pokemon available elsewhere and also removing their shiny lock. The method would require players to purchase a separate game to shiny hunt for these Paradox Pokemon fromPokemon Scarlet and Violet, but it could be a good solution for collectors anyway. Another option could be to make them always appear as shinies in these hypothetical Johto and Unova games if players have a save forPokemon Scarlet and Violet.
A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Distribution Event Could Give Away Shiny Paradox Pokemon
The second path that Game Freak could pursue in order to make all Paradox Legendary Beasts and Swords of Justice available as shinies is much simpler and more effective, and it would involve an event similar to the one for Zeraora in Gen 8.Pokemon Scarlet and Violetcould have a distribution eventwhere players are all getting Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt, Iron Boulder, and Iron Crown if they defeat them in Tera Raids, but if these Pokemon are defeated a million times overall, then everyone gets them as shinies for free.
This would be a very effective way to distributeshiny Paradox Pokemon inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, as every other pocket monster in this category is normally available in Area Zero and can either appear randomly as an overworld shiny or through means like Gen 9’s sandwiches. Instead, the Paradox Legendary Beasts and Swords of Justice are always shiny-locked, and their restrictions don’t even end there. Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are only available through Tera Raid events, whereas Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt are exclusive toPokemon Scarlet, and Iron Boulder and Iron Crown are exclusive toPokemon Violet. This type of event would again kill two birds with one stone, and it would be more immediate than the Johto and Unova games.
