APokemon ScarletandVioletfan has noticed a key detail about the Pokemon Centers in the next installments of the series and how they may change one long-standing issue many players have encountered. One small change to the traditionally importantPokemonlocation may make getting between battles and retrieving recovery items inPokemon ScarletandVioleta lot more seamless.

SincePokemon RedandBluewere released,Pokemonplayers have been unable to do things like ride their bike in or fly out of Pokemon Centers because of certain indoor restrictions. This tradition has carried forward into many mainlinePokemontitles, with a few areas like Sky Pillar and underground passageways standing as the few exceptions. An eagle-eyed Reddit user called Kilzi has noticed that the open nature ofoutdoor Pokemon Centersteased during thePokemon ScarletandViolettrailer may allow Pokemontrainers to fly or mount up unrestricted by limitations faced by earlier generations.

Kilzi’s post included an image from one of thePokemon ScarletandViolettrailers, and two fromPokemon SwordandShieldthat illustrate their point in juxtaposition to the Gen 9 photo. ThePokemon Scarlet and Violetscreenshot highlights the scale and open design of Pokemon Centers in the Gen 9 games, with two trainers standing outside in proximity to the counter that may feel familiar toPokemonfans that are used to interacting with NPCs in prior main series titles. Because of this addition of outdoor Pokemon Centers inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, Kilzi points out that players may benefit with the ability to fly or ride the bicycle at will.

Like Pokemon Centers inPokemon SwordandShield, the ones inPokemon ScarletandVioletinclude a Poke Mart and online features like trading and battling in one location that gets progressively more condensed. These outdoor Pokemon Centers are the only ones teased in thePokemon ScarletandViolettrailers thus far, shown in snowy and grassy areas, and they may be the only model of the important hub. Although these outdoor Pokemon Centers are the only such venues that have been shown off in trailers, thePokemonacademies that are part of the storymay also offer items or health restoration.

Though multiplePokemonfans expressed enthusiasm for what has been dubbed the “drive-through Pokecenters,” others have anticipated that players may not be able to fly if they’re too close to the building or that a pop-up may prompt them to do certain actions somewhere else. Because Koraidon and Miraidon have been spotted near the Pokemon Centers, it’s likely thatPokemon ScarletandVioletplayers will at least be able to ride theirGen 9 Legendary Pokemonup to the Gen 9 upgraded outdoor centers.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill release for Nintendo Switch on November 18.
