Pokemon GOis about to celebrate its eighth anniversary, and during those eight years it’s seen both ups and downs as far as the community is concerned. The title has remained popular over the years, but there are still elements that fans aren’t happy about. Some of the most egregious include the changes to remote raid passes and the Avatar system, but there are also those who wish there were new features added to the game, like the ability to ditch Pokemon Eggs.
Pokemon GOplayer honggay shared a screenshot of their inventory packed full of Pokemon Eggs and brought up the subject of wishing they could throw some of them out. The screenshot reveals their egg storage is completely full, mostly consisting of 10 km Eggs and some 12 km Eggs. Unfortunately for the fan, the only option they have here is to start hatching the Eggs. Of course, once they do so, it’s possible for new Eggs to drop from PokeStops, Gyms, and through other methods, so they could easily find themselves back in this situation faster than they’re able to hatch the ones they currently have.
Discarding Pokemon Eggs Unlikely To Come to Pokemon GO
Some fans in the comments were sympathetic to their plight, and echoed the sentiment, complaining about their own horde of Eggs. However, many also pointed out that it’s not in Niantic’s favor to allow players toditch their Pokemon Eggs. Hatching them is only possible with an incubator, and while there are free incubators players can utilize, getting a pile of Eggs like this hatched as fast as possible would mean spending money in the in-game shop. In other words, if Niantic introduced a feature that let players throw out Pokemon Eggs, they might spend less money in the store, hurting Niantic’s bottom line.
Of course, not everyPokemon GOplayer has this problem or thinks that it’s necessarily an issue. Some fans were envious of the egg pile-up honggay had, wishing that they had a selection of 10km Eggs to hatch themselves. Others suggested that they focus on hatching them during select times like the upcomingScorching Steps event, which will see egg hatch distance shortened dramatically. While it won’t get rid of all the Eggs at once, it should help to speed up the process.
Unfortunately, not every wishlist forPokemon GOfeatures and additions will be answered in a way users like. ThePokemon GOdirector recently saidNiantic isn’t budging on remote raid limits, for example.
