Over the course of a year, she would gain her audience by streaming popular titles such asRed Dead Redemption 2,Resident Evil 2, andSoma. In March 2022, CyberLive confirmed Yuri and Kaneko Lumi would graduate from the company and become independent VTubers. Yuri and Lumi would celebrate their graduation from CyberLive as Twitch partners that same month. Several repeated breaches of Yuri’s talent contract were investigated and confirmed according to Phase Connect. The company and Yuri attempted to reach a mutual agreement regarding the infractions, but the parties were unable to agree on a solution. As a result, a continued working relationship between Phase Connect and Yuri and a potential renewal of contract was deemed impossible by the company. The official notice was finalized on April 23 with Yuri’s termination, and the company’s official channels made the VTuber’s termination known to the public today.
All activity on Fuura Yuri’s social media channels will cease effective immediately, and her YouTube channel, Twitch channel, Twitter account, and Discord server will close on May 1. A final farewell video will be published on April 30 before her YouTube channel is taken offline the following day. Additionally, the VTuber’s merchandise will be taken down on May 1, and Phase Connect will provide full refunds for fans who contributed toward Yuri’s PC donation goal. Despite Yuri’s breach of contract, Phase Connect thanksthe VTuber community and fansfor their support over the past year.
