Palia’s Open Beta phase brings a slew of fresh features to capture players' interest while the game continues to carve its niche in its genre. Singularity 6 is diligently working to expand story content and roll out improvements and features outlined on the game’s roadmap, and the developers have introduced new gameplay activities including theWeekly Skill Challengesto keep players engaged.
Palia’s skills include Bug Catching, Cooking, Fishing, Foraging, Furniture Making, Gardening, Hunting, and Mining, all of which feature their own level progression bars that players can increase through completing related activities. Weekly Skill Challenges are a feature that players unlock through progression with any of the game’s skills and offer weekly tasks for players to complete.

When a player reachesLevel 10with a skill, they can participate in Weekly Challenges for that skill. Players can complete a total of three Weekly Challenges per skill per week and will receiveSkill Medalsfor accomplishing these tasks. These Weekly Challenges reset every Sunday at 7 AM UTC and players can complete the same tasks in the new week.
How To Start Weekly Challenges
Weekly Challenges can be found in theAccomplishments tab, which the player can navigate to by clicking the tab featuring a medal in the Player menu or access directly by pressing the U key. The player will unlock a skill’s Weekly Challenges upon reaching Level 10 in that skill.
Available Weekly Challenges will show up at the top of the Accomplishments list. Their cards feature a different color background and an hourglass icon that players can click on to check how much time is remaining to complete that challenge. Completing Accomplishments earns the playerRenown, another special currency in the game that can be used toupgrade the player’s Focus barandFocus Bonus.
Weekly Challenges will award bothRenownandSkill Medalsupon completion. The player can hover the cursor over a challenge to see how long is left to complete the task before the challenges reset each week. Players looking to maximize their Skill Medal gains should aim to complete all three Weekly Challenges for each skill every week.
What Are Skill Medals?
Skill Medals are a currency used topurchase exclusive itemsfrom each skill’sGuild Store. Each store is run by the respective skill’s Guild Master and is unlocked upon reaching Level 2 in that skill. Each type of Skill Medal can be used only at its respective skill’s Guild Store and can be used to purchase recipes and other helpful items.
The player will earn Skill Medals only once they reachLevel 10with the respective skill. 10 Skill Medals will be awarded for each subsequent level up in that skill beyond Level 10. Skill Medals are also earned by completing Weekly Challenges, with each completed task awarding either30 or 40 Skill Medals.

Players can currently hold2000 Skill Medalsfor each Skill, and they can view their current quantity of Skill Medals by checking beneath each Skill in the Skill Levels menu accessed via the Player menu.
All Weekly Skill Challenges
There are currently three Weekly Challenges for each ofPalia’s eight skills. All three of these challenges can be completed each week for amaximum reward of 100 Skill Medalsfor the associated skill. To complete Skill Challenges with objectives that require the participation of other players, the player must be partied with others who are also completing this task.
It is possible to earn credit for some of these challenges by simply hitting a node or a creature once and then leaving. If another player finishes it off, you can get credit for this task even if not partied. It’s uncertain if this is an intended effect, so it may be subject to change. In any case, it’s recommended topair up with at least one other playerto get these accomplishments done.
