The first step toward unlocking Golden Weapons inOverwatch 2is tocomplete the Competitive Play challengeand unlock the Competitive Play game modes. To do this, players mustwin 50 games in Quick Play,a requirement that may take quite a while to fulfill. Notably, fans that reached Level 25 in the originalOverwatchcan bypass this step, as they will have immediate access to Competitive Play.

Once Competitive has been unlocked, players should start participating in Competitive matches in order toearn Competitive Points. Specifically, fans that are interested in unlocking a Golden Weapon must accumulate3,000 Competitive Points, and they will receive 15 for every win and five for every draw. To note, there is currently a bug affectingCompetitive Points inOverwatch 2. Specifically, that bug is cause players to receive large quantities of unearned points, and some fans are opting to use them to unlock Golden Weapons for many Heroes.
