Summary
With ever-changing meta-facing players inOverwatch 2, it’s no surprise that some of the best heroes end up weaker than others. However, when discussing the terms ofOverwatch 2lore, some characters are surprisingly stronger than others. Whether it’s the gameplay comparison of a hulking man wielding a hammer without rest, compared to a woman who can seemingly hack the planet.

Overwatch 2lore deserves recognition for bringing in some truly powerful characters that can affect and alter the story of the game and its characters, even if they may be less-than-impressive when it comes to the actual gameplay and PvP capabilities itself.
7Baptiste
As one ofthe support characters, it’s expected that Baptiste wouldn’t be the strongest when it comes to gameplay. This character specializes in keeping his team healed, with his gadget capabilities of the Immortality Field ensuring that both he and his team can survive the impossible. However, in terms of his self-defense, his weapon can’t exactly rival the best Tanks inOverwatch 2.
However, in terms of lore, Baptiste is a cunningOverwatch 2hero that deserves recognition. Baptiste was an elite combat medic with a strong desire to help people, even if he originated as a member of the terrorist organization of Talon. Leaving Talon was a death sentence, one that Baptiste accepted. Those that hunt for Baptiste don’t ever come home.

6Junkrat
Junkrat is one of the most unpredictable heroes inOverwatch 2. His singed hair, love of all things giggles and explosive makes him a dangerous character, and one that doesn’t necessarily think of himself as evil. InOverwatch 2, Junkrat hops around the battlefield, firing grenades and mines at himself and his foes. Even if he is immune to his explosive damage, thatdoesn’t warrant his strengthin the lore.
Despite living in chaos and destruction, Junkrat actually seems smarter than he looks, whether that is intentional or otherwise. Junkrat, and admittedly, thanks to his disgruntled companion Roadhog, managed to essentially rob the world with treasure thanks to a global heist spree. Despite many trying to find this treasure from Junkrat, he has been able to evade or kill all that come across him. Although, again, that may also be because of Roadhog.

5Sombra
Sombra is a talented hacker inOverwatch 2. Agile, nimble, and a great pick for players that want to get behind other players, shut down their abilities, and gun them down with an SMG. Yet, Sombra is weaker than other heroes due to her health pool and high skill level required to become the bestOverwatch 2player. Although, Sombra’s lore inOverwatch 2makes herone of the strongest characters.

Everyone knows that Sombra is one of the world’s greatest hackers, but what they might not know, is just how great. Sombra has spent her years growing her stealth capabilities and her hacking powers, manipulating powerful global elites, not for power or wealth, but simply because she finds it fun.
4Echo
Both inOverwatch 2and the lore, Echo is a powerful hero. In the game, Echo can dominate the skies with her flight capabilities, and her knowledge of every hero means she can replicate their skills and abilities to great success. However, her fire modes and her health make her weak and vulnerable, showing that despite her strengths, she’s even more superior in the lore.
Echo was created as an evolutionary robot, that quickly developed one of the greatest and accelerating AIs. Echo may have started as an interface, but she quickly became a team member, who loves meeting new people and learning culture, to help guide her down the righteous path. The fact that Echo can essentially transfer herself into other powerful heroes makes her one of the best.

3Doomfist
As a tank, Doomfist is arguably one of the weakest. He has a low health pool and a very high skill bracket that makes him hard to master. Doomfist is a character that essentially plays like a character from a fighting game, where he is rewarded with health and shield from combos. However, because of his lack of health, he can beseen as a weaker character, with his large fist weaker than what it should have been.

Doomfist believes in conflict by any means as a necessity for evolution. He’s determined to create a war with humanity, ensuring that through the death of countless people, more will be saved. However, it is not Doomfist’s warped mentality that makes him strong, but his fist itself. His cybernetic fist is dangerous and has been capable of eliminating people and buildings in one strike.
2Winston
Being hit by Winston’s Tesla Cannon may feel like getting tickled before the inevitability of death kicks in. Winston’s weapon isn’t exactly strong, but it is great for situational moments in team fights. However, one of Winston’s greatest strengths is his mind, and also the fact that he is a giant ape who when his rage is unbound, canpunch his way through most teams of enemieswithout a problem.
As a genetically engineered ape, Winston has intelligence above even the greatest human minds. When he isn’t enjoying a jar of peanut butter, he might be indulging his rage, in which he becomes a giant red ape determined to hit anyone. Winston has been the only one to fight the likes of Doomfist in a 1 versus 1, fists only.

1Sigma
Another tank to graceOverwatch 2is Sigma. In the game, he is more known for his eccentric rambles and his defensive capabilities than his weaponry. Sigma can throw up shields with his hands, and use his power to grow the intensity of his ownhealth and battle prowess, but his weapons feel like he is throwing little rocks at his enemies to those that have not mastered the art of Sigma inOverwatch 2.
In the lore, Sigma is perhaps the most powerful characterOverwatch 2has seen, even if that came at the cost of his sanity. As an astrophysicist, Sigma was involved with an experiment that may have taken his mind, but it gave him control over gravity itself, a feat that no one has conquered since.

Overwatch 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
