After taking down two of the Yonko, the Straw Hats left Wano on a high note. They sailed for a while before they reached the next island. As fate would have it, they ended up on Egghead Island, which is affiliated with the World Government.

The island is also home to Dr. Vegapunk, the genius scientist whose name has been brought up several times inOne Piece. The Straw Hats' tour of Egghead Island may be coming to a close soon, so it is the perfect time to look back on the contributions of the characters in the arc. Unsurprisingly, many notableOne Piececharacters have been involved in the arc, but some of them are more important than the rest.
7Monkey D. Luffy
Being the protagonist of the series, it was obvious that Luffy would be involved in all the arcs. En route to the island, Luffy got separated from the rest of his crew and met Bonney. The two Worst Generation members, along with Jimbei and Chopper were the first ones to meet Dr. Vegapunk.
The scientist requested that Luffy let him sail with his crew for some time. Luffy accepted, and on their way to the Frontier Dome, they came across CP0. So, Luffy had to fight Rob Lucci to protect Vegapunk from being killed.

6Dr. Vegapunk
Dr. Vegapunk isthe smartest character in the series. He has been the mastermind behind the creation of some of the most impressive weapons and other pieces of technology. His biggest creation thus far has been the Seraphim. In addition to his scientific knowledge, Vegapunk also knows a lot about the history of the world.

Due to his incessant need to learn more, Vegapunk probed into the unexplored and forbidden, which put him on the radar of the World Government. They sent CP0 to wipe him out. However, luck was on the scientist’s side as the Straw Hats reached the island first. Needless to say, Vegapunk is an important character not only in the Egghead Island arc but in the entireOnePieceseries.
5Six Satellites
The reasonwhy the six satellites of Vegapunkhave been added as a separate entry is that they are not mindless robots. Surprisingly, they have a consciousness of their own. The six satellites were created by Vegapunk to accomplish more tasks in a shorter period of time.
The six satellites are as follows: Shaka, Lilith, Edison, Pythagoras, Atlas, and York. Each satellite has one of Vegapunk’s traits. Until now, the satellites have played an important role in the arc, and it looks like they will continue to do so as they seem to be leaving the island with the main body.

4Roronoa Zoro
When the crew decided to explore Egghead Island, Zoro decided to stay on the ship along with Brook. While the fans definitely missed seeing the master swordsman in action, it turned out to be the right decision. Due to the defenses going offline,CP0 managed to get insidethe Frontier Dome. After a brief search, they located the Thousand Sunny.

to cut off all the escape routes of the pirates, Kaku decided to attack the ship. Luckily, Zoro woke up at the right time and stopped it before it could reach the ship. This led to a battle between the two, and at the moment, it looks like the Straw Hat will come out on top. Zoro’s battle is going to be decisive because if he fails to protect the ship, the Straw Hats will be in massive trouble.
3Bartholomew Kuma
Bartholomew Kuma is a former Shichibukaiturned slave. Before being turned into a mindless cyborg, Kuma was heralded as one of the greatest pirates. His aura alone was enough to scare his opponents. Sadly, for an unknown reason, he decided to undergo the process of becoming a cyborg.
Following his transformation, Kuma became a slave of the Celestial Dragons, but he was rescued by the Revolutionary Army. He was taken to Kamabakka Island to be fixed. However, Kuma had other plans, so he used his devil fruit powers to send himself to Red Port, which is at the base of the Red Line. Clearly, Kuma has some big goals, which make him a crucial character.

2Jewelry Bonney
Jewelry Bonney was rescued by the Straw Hats from inside an eddy. Following her rescue, Bonney revealed that she wanted to go to Egghead Island in order to confront Vegapunk. She wanted the scientist to turn her father back to normal.
Before the Egghead Island arc started, Bonney had barely made any appearances in the story. So, seeing her get involved was amazing. In the arc, it was also revealed that CP0 was trying to assassinate Bonney as well. If the Straw Hats successfully escape from Egghead Island, it is plausible to assume that Bonney will travel with them for a while as her crew is still imprisoned.

1Seraphim
The Seraphim have been called the greatest weapons in the history of mankind. They were created by Dr. Vegapunk, who used all sorts of means to ensure the project’s success. The Seraphim appear to be the younger versions of the Shichibukai, but their bodies have been modified by Vegapunk using the lineage factor of the Lunarians.
The Seraphim have incredible durabilityand strength, allowing them to take on the likes of Blackbeard, Boa Hancock, Sanji, etc. The Seraphim are important to the arc because of how they are capable of shifting the entire balance of power. Furthermore, the Seraphim are capable of talking and expressing emotions. This implies there might be more to these monsters than meets the eye.
