WithMomonosuke finally announcing himself as the Shogunof the country, the people weren’t made to starve anymore, the drinking water was clean, and slavery was completely abolished. At the same time, the chapter saw a small time skip take place, following which Luffy and Zoro finally woke up. In Ringo, the deaths of the fallen were honored, and this is likely something Oda might touch upon inOne Piece1053.
The most important part of the chapter that will likely be central to the upcoming one is certainly the World Government’s talk with the Cipher Pol and thearrival of Admiral Ryokugyu in Wano Country. Meanwhile, the newspaper finally made its way to Wano and the massive rewards for everyone are set to be revealed. All that, and more will likely be touched upon inOne Piece1053.

One Piece 1053: The New Emperors And The Bounties
One Piece’sprevious chapter saw Apoo, one of the members of the Worst Generation, bring in a newspaper with all the key information from the events of Wano Country. Aftertaking down Big Mom and Kaido, the members of the Worst Generation are likely to get a massive boost in numbers and even gain new titles as the Emperors of the Sea. First and foremost, Oda will likely handle the upcoming bounties inOne Piece1053, starting with the likes of the Straw Hat Pirates, who will all be getting massive increases.
Among the crew, the ones to watch out for would certainly be Nico Robin, Yamato, Sanji, Zoro, and of course, the captain, Monkey D. Luffy. Other characters whose bounties fans could see in the next chapter of the story are likely going to be Eustass Captain Kid, Killer, and Trafalgar Law. These characters were certainly key to the events of the Wano Country arc and thus deserve the massive rewards that would be given to them. The likes of Apoo, and possibly even Basil Hawkins, if he is alive, could have their bounties increased as well, as is expected of an all-out war.

More importantly, Oda will also focus on the new Emperors of the Sea inOne Piece1053. As Apoo teased previously, the newspaper also includes information on those who are being called the Emperors now and that’s certainly exciting. Following the fall of Big Mom and Kaido, the next generation is expected to rise soon. It goes without saying that Luffy is the one who will take the center stage and will likely have the highest bounty from the next generation members.
His bounty is likely going to be close to Kaido’s 4.6 billion berries and could go above the 4 billion berri mark. Luffy was already considered an Emperor of the Sea by many, so for him to be among the new Emperors wouldn’t be a surprise. With him could be Trafalgar Law and Eustass Captain Kid. Interestingly, there are other people worthy of being among the new emperors, such as Buggy, Dracule Mihawk, and even the remaining Shichibukai. If this is the case, One Piece 1053 could see the establishment of a completely new system with more than Four Emperors.
One Piece 1053: Ryokugyu In Wano Country
Towards the end of the last chapter, fans sawAdmiral Ryokugyu get close to Wano country. One Piece 1053 is most certainly going to focus more on him as he approaches the borders of the land. It is likely that Ryokugyu will make his way into the country and, interestingly enough, this could end up going either way. Strong as he is, it wouldn’t be smart for him to take on the entire alliance in combat as there is no way he stands a chance against all of them at once.

However, Oda has previously implied that he, just like Fujitora, has his own sense of justice that could potentially go against the wishes of the World Government. If that indeed is the case, fans could see Ryokugyu’s sense of justice in One Piece 1053 come into play and actually end up doing the Straw Hat Pirates and the alliance a favor. That said, it is almost a given that chapter 1053 will give fans a better look at his Devil Fruit powers.
One Piece 1053: When Will The Chapter Release?
One Piece is headed for a one-month hiatus after the conclusion of the upcoming chapter. As such, this will be the last chapter before the big break. According to MangaPlus, One Piece 1053’s release date is June 06, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on the MangaPlus or the Shonen Jump app. Following the chapter, One Piece will return towards the end of July and start a newsaga with chapter 1054.
