The first official trailer for Marvel Studios’Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwas released at the San Diego Comic-Con, and it created a lot of buzz online among fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A few new characters were introduced in the trailer, which led to several fan theories being spun. Those theories were further fueled when Hasbro and Funko revealed the official merchandise for the film.
TheBlack Panther: Wakanda Forevermerchandise so far consists of toys, figures, and role-playing items, all created by the popular companies Hasbro and Funko. The reveal came just a day after thefirst officialBlack Panther: Wakanda Forevertrailerwas released. With a few months to go before the film premieres in theaters, this is the perfect way for the studio to build hype. The merchandise is already available for fans to pre-order.

The first set of merchandise revealed by Funko, the pop-culture company known for its vinyl figurines, includes a POP! figure of Shuri, Queen Ramonda, M’Baku, Okoye, Nakia, Namor, Attuma, Namora, and Riri Williams in her prototype suit. Fans have been expressing excitement at the reveal of Williams' suit, as this is the first proper glimpse of the MCU’s version of the character and her armor. Williams will be portrayed by Dominique Thorne, and after being introduced into the MCU inBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, she will go on to feature in theDisney Plus seriesIronheart. It is unclear how much of a role she will play in the much-awaitedBlack Panthersequel.
Apart from the figures, the company has also introduced backpacks and t-shirts in theirBlack Panther:Wakanda Forevercollection, along with some exclusive Blacklight figures as well. Hasbro’s big reveal came in the form of new Marvel Legends action figures. Most of the same characters get exclusive figures from the toy company, with highly detailed features and suits. The one figure that stands out is Nakia’s, as it offers a closer look at her new suit. She was previously seen in the traditional red outfit of the War Dogs, but the new suit takes on a more purple green and blue tint.
Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwill see the characters unite to “protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death.” Based onthe first officialBlack Panther: Wakanda Forevertrailer, it seems like the movie will acknowledge the death of fan-favorite actor Chadwick Boseman and even honor the late actor. However, the characters must move on and face the next chapter for Wakanda. The film stars Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duk, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livanalli.
Black Panther: Wakanda Foreveris scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 20, 2025.
