Kagha stares at Arabella in Baldur’s Gate 3

6Kagha

Demonstrates Her Willingness To Make Ruthless Choices Early Into The Game

Kagha is undoubtedly awidely disliked characterthatBaldur’s Gate 3players have the pleasure (or displeasure) of meeting early in Act 1 when they enter the Druid Grove hoping to find Halsin. They instead find Kagha acting as First Druid, making some questionable decisions as the substitute de facto leader.

Kagha is willing to go to some extreme measures in order to protect the grove and the druids within, and while that is an admirable goal, her methods are much less so. But there is no denying that Kagha is strong-headed, believes strongly in her own convictions, and is no coward. Love or hate her, Kagha is undoubtedly a badass character. It’s just a shame her principles are more villainous than they are heroic.

Shadowheart holding the Astral Prism in Baldur’s Gate 3

5Shadowheart

A Fierce And Loyal Cleric Who Has Endured Many Hardships Throughout Her Life

In contrast to Kagha, Shadowheart is a popular companion among players, thanks to her status as a healer and a well-written character. Though she started off as a mean girl in the early access version, this was changed in the full release, without diluting what makes her character so badass.

She is adevout and loyal clericwho can demonstrate the same loyalty to the player, but this should not be mistaken for weakness. Shadowheart is a strong character saddled with hefty expectations from Shar. While this undying loyalty can make her blind, it certainly doesn’t make her weak, as she carries all this baggage with grace and resilience.

Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3

4Karlach

This Strong Tiefling Barbarian Is Always Down For A Good Fight

Karlach is one of the strongest and most charismatic characters in all ofBaldur’s Gate 3, as she is a muscled barbarian with a heart of gold. It’s very easy to forge a strong bond with her as long as the player avoids the moreevil choices the game has to offer.

Despite her good nature, Karlach is a fierce warrior whose blood runs hot–quite literally, and she is always ready and eager to throw down with any foes that she comes in contact with. Barbarian rage is always something to behold, and Karlach’s immense stature makes it all the more intimidating. Though her easy-going nature, charismatic grin, and infectious sense of humor can seem inviting initially, Karlach is still an incredibly badass character that no one would want to be on the wrong side of.

Lae’Zel smiling in Baldur’s Gate 3

3Lae’zel

Has The Most Badass Game Entrance Out Of All The Characters

TheGithyanki have a unique culturecentered around worship of Vlaakith and waging war against the Illithid. As such, the githyanki do not brook weakness, and Lae’zel may be the best example of this. She may even be stronger than most of her kin.

Lae’zel believes the companions she shares the road with should be equally strong. She wants them to focus on ridding themselves of the parasites inside their heads so that they don’t turn into what she hates the most. More than once, Lae’zel admits she would not hesitate to kill anyone who shows signs of transforming with deadpan bluntness. Her brutal honesty was a turn-off for some players, but many admire her for her no-nonsense and badass attitude. And who could forget the intimidating way she is introduced aboard the Nautiloid, threatening the player while directing her sword at them? In almost every aspect of her character, Lae’zel is a certified badass.

2Jaheira

This Legacy Character Proves That The Originals Are Always The Best

Jaheira was one of the few relics to return from theprevious twoBaldur’s Gategames, a druid guarding the Last Light Inn surrounded by the Shadow Curse. Her return was no doubt to appease long-term fans of the series, but she was a delight to newcomers as well.

A battle-hardened veteran who demonstrates great leadership when discussing plans of actions in the Last Light Inn, Jaheira has a sharp tongue that can cut those it is aimed at, and her status as a badass is only enhanced by her wit. She never takes situations too seriously as she is a courageous woman, opting to make light of the circumstances she finds herself in. Minthara scowling in Baldur’s Gate 3

1Minthara

A Tough As Nails Boss Character That Players Can Recruit

Despite being one of the major three bosses in the Goblin Camp, Minthara is available asa recruitable companionin Act 2 if she is not killed earlier. Those who do go through the trouble of recruiting her will find out that this villainous character may be one of the toughest in the entire game, showing not even a single shred of weakness and barely any mercy to those around her.

With her being a drow woman, she is just as callous, power-hungry, and superior-acting as players would expect, and she is also extremely observant of her surroundings. Defeating Minthara is no small feat thanks to her badassery and skill, but players would definitely fare better with this tough-as-nails paladin on their side.
