Ever since the release of Capcom’sResident Evil Villagein May this year, fans have been modding the content of the game, often just for the sheer thrill of it. For example, deciding that the game needed a touch of humor, one user decided to make it so thatLady Dimitrescu’s hat would progressively get larger throughout the game. There’s also a mod which changes out the Moroaica models for the infamousScreamGhostface killer. The game is simply rife for tweaking and being added to, and now another fan has brought one aspect over to the eight installment with a new work-in-progress.
Posting to the modding forum, a user has uploaded some screenshots showing whatRE2’s Leon Kennedy would look like when placed in the world ofResident Evil Village. The modder expressed a small amount of confusion about how the game has been out for some time now, yet no one has thought to add Leon to the game, particularly with fans stating thatVillageseemed to take inspiration fromResident Evil 4.

What’s interesting about this mod is that the model for Leon was lifted directly from theResident Evilmod ofDead by Daylight. However, the actual face was lifted from the remake ofRE2. Why the user decided to use a different face on a different model isn’t really known, but it doesn’t detract from the modification in any way.
They’ve also said that, currently, themod forVillageis in third-person viewonly. Though they did say they would like to implement a first-person mode, once they have time. There are also a number of things they would like to tweak as well, such as there being no facial animations. There are a couple of bugs in this third-person view, such as the character model stretching whenever the player crouches down to aim.
Generally, it looks like a really good mod, and likely brings one of the franchise’s most famous aspects into the latest iteration, Leon Kennedy.Leon has arguably been one ofResident Evil’s most popular characters. This is perhaps due to his no-nonsense approach to the zombie outbreak as well as the fact that he survives at all odds on his first day as a cop. Either way, it is quite surprising that no one thought to add him intoVillageuntil now.
Resident Evil Villageis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
