How to Jump Higher with Items

Before attempting to do any tricks, players should take a good look at their environment. Objects have been placed in various levels throughout the game, andthey can beused as jumping pads or to boost Mario’s reach. Spring

Some levels have springs, which canhelp Mario reach a higher platform. To use a spring, gamers have to jump onto it and then jump once while on top.

Wire

While players can immediately propel themselves into the air right after grabbing onto a wire, they can perform a highly-effective Wire Jump move instead. To Wire Jump, players have to hold up the left analog stick on their Joy-con until Mario starts spinning and then jump- this will send them flying in the air.

Players can also jump on top of items, such as trash cans or even enemies, in order to attempt to reach another platform.

Tip

Handstand Jump

Do a handstand by crouching (left analog down) before selecting jump. Then, jump once Mario is doing a handstand.

If time isn’t a problem and gamers don’t need to perfectly calculate their move, they should go with the Handstand Jump instead of a Backflip.

Handstand Double Jump

Do a handstand then jump to perform a Handstand Jump. Press the jump button once again as soon as Mario touches the ground.

The Handstand Double Jump allows Mario to reach the top of platforms that are three blocks tall. However, it requires a bit of a moving area.

Backflip

Move forward, then quickly turn the analog stick in the opposite direction and jump.

Players should use this if they’re in a hurry and don’t have time to do a Handstand Jump.
