MADiSONhas a lot of difficult achievements to be working towards among the terrifying jumpscares lurking in Luca’s abandoned house. Over the course of the game, players will gradually put the jigsaw puzzle plot together, something that is made easier by finding a signature character’s memoirs.

Elizabeth Maxwell is Luca’s grandmother, who was plagued by the supposed demon creature Blue Knees and gradually went mad as a result. Finding the hidden notes left behind by Elizabeth allows the player to understand more of her backstory, in addition to getting anotherMADiSONachievement.

Elizabeth’s First Memoirs

The first memoirs can be found inside “Grandpa and Grandma’s Room” duringMADiSON’s Portrait Picture puzzle. The room is easy enough to locate thanks to the grayscale picture of a young married couple hanging on the door, which is opened using the Heart Key found in the Attic.

Once inside, the room is in disarray, thanks to an abundance of written notes and medications left lying around. The reason for this is explained by investigating the wardrobe on the right side of the room (when standing in the doorway).

Inside the wardrobe is Elizabeth’s diary, which tells of her buying a scary children’s book called Blue Knees, then gradually losing her eyesight.Blue Knees' existence is up for debate, but one missing diary page means the full story is currently out of reach of the player.

Elizabeth’s Missing Diary Page

Several explorative players may find the diary easily enough, but the remaining page can be fiendishly elusive. Its location is only accessible towards the end of the game, meaning some players will likely have forgotten about Elizabeth’s writings. At the start, Luca will find a door with two triangular locks in place, which is only opened near the end of the game.

The first triangle key is obtained from a low cupboard in the kitchen. There’s no lock or restraints on it, but it can be easy to overlook the key if only going direct through rooms and not stopping to explore points of interest.

The second triangle key comes much later in the game, aftersolving theSilent Hill-esque basement puzzleand obtaining the crowbar to get the “sentimental object” hidden under a floorboard in Elizabeth’s room. After the wedding ring is grabbed, return to the start room where Luca picked up the camera and there will be four Virgin Mary statues standing around the chair. The key will be on the chair, allowing the player to open the door.

Once the door is opened, it is very tempting to rush ahead and explore more, but the missing diary page is on a table down and to the right. Picking it up will cause the trophy/achievement to pop, but reading it also adds more context into what really happened to the Maxwell family and Madison.
