The upcomingLike a Dragon: Ishinrevealed that famous composer and musician Alex Moukala will be a Trooper Card in the upcoming remake. Moukala is a Hollywood music producer whose works were featured in trailers and commercials for films such asAvengers: Endgame. Many gamers, however, know him for his remixes and compositions of various video game music. The most popular videos and songs he has produced however arefunky remixes of video game songs, likeYakuza 0’s Friday Night,Final Fantasy 7’s One-Winged Angel,Bloodborne’s Ludwig the Holy Blade, and other iconic tracks.In regards to his role inIshin, he’ll be a part of the Trooper Cards system introduced in the remake. These cards grant bonuses or special attacks based on the character, usually being a character from a past entry or special celebrity cameo.Kenny Omega and Rahul Kohli were confirmed to be part of the Trooper Card DLC, alongside cosplayer Vampy Bitme in special video interviews from Sega. However, he also notes that he is represented in the game literally, where he has his ownTrooper Card inIshin, stating that he never expected this would have been included in a game like this.
The video proceeds to show off his card, which is known as “Essence of Crescendo,” complete with a Shinsengumi outfit and katana that makes him look like he came straight fromLike a Dragon: Ishin. This card will generate a giant symphonic shockwave that blows away nearby enemies, which fits Moukala’s profession. Many fans were surprised by Moukala’s inclusion in the game, with many appreciating the developers for bringing a variety of guests, even if they’re small parts.
On Twitter and in the YouTube comments section, Moukala thanked his many fans for their support, noting that the inclusion as a guest was a great honor. Moukala also commented that this system was, in a way, proof that those at RGG Studio cared about the fans and its community. Moukala also expressed his excitement to play the upcoming remake, noting how the game has had a reputation for being anelusiveLike a Dragonentry for western fans.
There will be six cards included within the Elite Generals Trooper Card Bundle, with Moukala being the fourth guest and will be free to download at launch. There are alsopre-order bonuses forIshin, which include six DLC bundles as well as a four-day early access window.
Like a Dragon: Ishinreleases February 21 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
