One gamer has shared an image helping to show the size difference between two iconic characters from a pair of popular media franchises: Master Chief from theHaloseries and Yoda fromStar Wars. While many fans already have an idea of the heights of these heroes in their respective universes, this new comparison shows just how tall theHaloseries' protagonist would be in the real world.
First introduced in 2001’sHalo: Combat Evolved, the Master Chief, also known as John-117, became synonymous with theHaloseries and the Xbox brand. One reason for the character’s popularity is his instantly-recognizable green MJOLNIR armor. As an augmented supersoldier,Master Chief uses his armor to defend humanity from The Covenantand other alien threats. Due to his physical augmentation, he is portrayed as incredibly tall compared to normal humans. Recently, one gamer decided to show just how tall the Spartan is by comparing him to another famous green character.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as GalaticArmory shared a picture they took of two life-sized replicas: one of the Master Chief and another of Jedi Master Yoda. As one might expect, this image revealed the height differential between the characters was significant, to say the least. Yoda was placed in front of Master Chief and made it up to about the kneepads of theSpartan’s MJOLNIR armor. While the picture was taken with the figures positioned next to a wall, there were several smaller items scattered on the ground that helped provide a sense of scale. For example, Yoda appeared to be slightly larger than a pot seen near the left side of the image. On the other hand, the entirety of the Master Chief’s armor could barely be contained in the picture.
Unsurprisingly, this life-sized comparison between Master Chief and Yoda caught the attention of numerous members of the Gaming subreddit and spurred many conversations in the comments section. With a staggering 28.1K upvotes in only a few hours, many users debated which of these characters would become the victor in a duel. Despite the Spartan’s significant size advantage, some fans sided withJedi Master Yodadue to his connection with the force. Beyond talking about the size of the figures, others wondered where GalaticArmory found the life-sized Master Chief. Fortunately, the Reddit user was quick to respond, revealing they had made the impressive replica on their own using a 3D printer.
This popular picture showing off a life-sized Master Chief evidences the continuing relevancy of the character in the gaming world. In fact, many fans continue to make impressive fan creations based on theHaloseries, such as another gamer that made astop-motion film featuring the Master Chief. While it is unclear when the story of John-117 will see its next chapter, gamers will likely continue to share more interesting creations and discoveries involving the character in the meantime.
