Disney Plus’Lokihas been unique in many ways. It introduced the concept of the Sacred Timeline, multiple variants of a single character, and is currently the only Marvel Studios series to have a confirmed second season. Ever since the first season finale premiered, fans have been waiting for an update on season 2, and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige revealed some good news at Disney’s Upfronts 2022 presentation.
While talking about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what’s in store for fans, Feige confirmed that the second season ofLokiwas on track and production is all set to begin in June. Fans of the series are waiting forTom Hiddleston’s God of Mischiefand Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie to return and continue their epic journey that is likely leading them towards Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror.

When providing the update on the second season ofLoki, Feige also confirmed that the upcoming season will see “the whole cast returning.” This means that all the main characters, and the actors who portray them on screen, will be a part of the second season. This roster most likely includes Hiddleston, Di Martino, Majors,Owen Wilson’s Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku’s Hunter B-15, and Tara Strong’s Miss Minutes. Perhaps some of the other Loki variants might also make an appearance.
Fans last saw Hiddleston’s Loki in a timeline entirely unfamiliar to him, where Kang seems to be in charge of the Time Variance Authority. He even meets up with another Mobius variant, who obviously doesn’t recognize him.TheLokifinale post-credits sceneconfirmed that the serieswould be returning for a second season, leaving fans excited to see one of their favorite anti-heroes return for more. While Loki is typically a part of his brother Thor’s story, this was the first time that he got a standalone project, and it left fans asking for more.
At this point, no details ofLokiseason 2have been revealed, and the plot is being kept under wraps. It isn’t, however, surprising that Marvel Studios is putting so much thought into the second season ofLoki. Feige confirmed at the same event that it is currently the most watched Marvel Studios series on Disney Plus. The long list includesWandaVision,The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,Hawkeye,What If…?, andMoon Knight.
