The firstJust Dancetitle released back in 2009 on several platforms, and Ubisoft just confirmed that one of the long-running consoles to get titles from this series will not be getting the latest installment.Just Danceis a Ubisoft E3 press conference staple, and 2021’s showcase was no exception.
Just Dance 2022was officially shown off during the Ubisoft Forward event during E3 2021 weekend and it will be coming to various platforms. Not listed among the platformsJust Dance2022will be releasing for is the Nintendo Wii, which has received nearly every title in the series until this one.

Despite the Nintendo Wii population dwindling since the release of several successors, theJust Dancecommunity on the platform remained strong enough for Ubisoft to support it several years after many other developers gave up on the Nintendo console. With a heavy emphasis on motion controls, theWii was a great fit for theJust Danceseriessince the original released in 2009.
While the Wii still has a healthy community ofJust Dancefans, the Nintendo Switch has impressive motion controls which are even better than Nintendo’s 2006 console. With so manyJust Dancetitles on the Wii, it remains one of the definitive consoles for fans of the series to pick up. This breaking of franchise tradition will leave the Wii withan impressive 11Just Dancetitlesas part of its catalog.
Just Dancefans on the Wiiwho are looking for something new may want to consider adopting one of the other consoles it will be releasing for. Nintendo and Ubisoft maintain a healthy relationship and continue to work together on projects such asMario + Rabbids Spark of Hope, so it’s unlikely that this comes down to anything more than the age of the Wii. It may feel like the end of an era for some fans of the dancing series, but the latest title is still coming to Nintendo Switch.
While some Wii fans may missJust Dancealready,fans of Todrick Hall are celebratinghis special guest focus on him in the game. The Ubisoft Forward presentation placed a strong emphasis on Hall and his performances will be displayed in-game.Just Dance 2022promises 40 new songs including “Believer” by Imagine Dragons and “Level Up” by Ciara. Among the other titles Ubisoft showed off during its E3 2021 press conference areAssassin’s Creed Valhalla,Far Cry 6,Riders Republic, andRainbow Six Siege.
Just Dance 2022releases on November 4 for PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
