Summary
Jujutsu Kaisenchapter 246 dropped earlier today and it is quite clear for the fans to see that from here onwards, the vast majority of the focus is going to be on the fight against Sukuna. Fans have been waiting for the story to return tothe fight between Sukuna and the Sorcerersand, now, that has finally happened.
In this week’s chapter, fans got a proper demonstration of how strong Sukuna is, along with other sorcerers showing their skill against him as well. At the same time, a lot of focus was thrown on Hiromi Higuruma, who, once again, was shown to be a shining star and a gem whose talent knows no bounds.JJKchapter 246 set up great things for this fight in the future and fans absolutely cannot wait for this clash to continue.
Kusabake Jumps In
JJKchapter 246 began with Kusabake jumping into battle in an attempt to protect Hiromi Higuruma. In the previous chapter, Hiromi managed to get a confiscation sentence for Sukuna’s cursed tool and because he thought his cursed technique would be confiscated, he was left open to an attack. That is precisely why Kusabake stepped in and he actually managed to save Higuruma’s life. By using a simple domain, he was able to nullify Sukuna’s attack to an extent where the injuries that they sustained became less severe. Sukuna was able to tell that his attacks had been weakened by the simple domain that was set up by Kusakabe.
Surprisingly, Kusakabe received quite a lot of focus in this chapter and through him, Gege managed to point out quite a few interesting things about Sukuna and his ability. The important thing that was pointed out is the fact that Sukuna cannot use the world-cutting slash again and again. That is to say that it is a powerful attack that probably requires some kind of Binding Vow or a charge limit so it cannot be used every single time in battle. Secondly, a lot more focuswas thrown on Sukuna’s abilitiesof Dismantle and Cleave. Essentially, Dismantle can be used from a distance as a projectile and can be weakened by the usage of things like simple domain or Domain Amplification.
Cleave, on the other hand, can be used on contact and cuts very powerfully. Even with Domain Amplification or Simple Domain, surviving a close hit would be incredibly difficult so it is better to avoid any form of contact with Sukuna. And then, there is the fire ability that he used against Jogo in battle. That secret ability far surpassed that of Jogo and, it is best to assume that he cannot use that power at this time anyway.
Sukuna In A 4 Vs 1 Battle
JJK chapter 246 went on to focus on a four versus one battle, with Sikuna being the highlight of the chapter. Starting with Choso, Sukuna decided to showcase his incredible speed. Choso attacked Sukuna with Piercing Blood and before it even made contact, Sukuna completely vanished and opened two holes in Choso’s chest with his bare hands, which just goes to show how skilled he is in combat. From there onwards, Ino was the one who took the reins and he attacked from above with Nanami’s dulled blade. Somehow, Nanami’s cursed technique has been imbued in the cursed tool and it can now be utilized to create weaknesses in Sukuna’s body and then strike them. This is going to be quite an incredible tool to use in this battle and fans can only hope that they get to see more of this as the story continues forward. That said, Ino did not manage to create any weaknesses in Sukuna and was kicked away rather easily.
Higuruma was the next to attack, however, he was simply thrown away by Sukuna with rather ease. Yuji tried to keep up with Sukuna, however, he failed as Sukuna was simply too fast for him. This was a proper demonstration of what Sukuna could do in battle without even utilizing his cursed technique properly. He is physically far superior to anyone around him and that is a damning statement for all the sorcerers who are willing to take him down.
The Plan To Save Megumi
Jujutsu Kaisenchapter 246 also focused quite a bit on the plan to take down Sukuna. Quite clearly, the best plan to take him downis to utilize the Executioner’s Sword. As such, Higuruma is the key here. He explained in the chapter that if his Executioner’s Sword manages to cut Sukuna, then the target will die. As such, everyone’s hopes are currently pinned on him and he needs to step up and make sure that he is able to deliver. At the same time, the plan to save Megumi was also revealed. As mentioned by Higuruma himself, if he’s able to cut Sukuna and then execute him, it will only tackle Sukuna’s soul itself. Megumi’s body and his soul, which has been held captive by Sukuna, can then be saved.
Essentially, it will be like achieving two goals with a single strike and because of that, Higuruma is the key here. That is precisely why Yuji and everyone around him are willing to risk their life and try to save Higuruma and it will be extremely interesting to see if they succeed in doing that and if Higuruma actually manages to slice Sukuna.
Higuruma Awakens Domain Amplification
Much to the surprise of Sukuna himself,JJKchapter 246showed that Higuruma isn’t a pushover either. Although Higuruma isn’t the most battle-hardened person, which is a given since he hasn’t been in many battles and lacks experience, he is still a shining star. Higuruma possesses loads of potential and it doesn’t take him long to master techniques. Within just 2 months, he has gone from a non-sorcerer to a sorcerer stronger than a Grade One, which means he’s around the level of a Special Grade at the moment and that just goes to show how talented he is.
As seen at the end of the chapter, he managed to awaken Domain Amplification and he did all that by just observing the fighters around him. That just goes to show the level of talent that he possesses and it is also a proof of the fact that he can make this battle interesting for Sukuna. Sukuna himself was very intrigued by Higuruma, just as Kenjaku was earlier. In fact, the narrator went on to say that he possessed the same level of talent as Gojo and could, thus, one day, become as strong as him. Of course, he would have to live long to achieve that, but, right now,his focus is on taking down Sukuna.This is going to be incredibly difficult for him to achieve and fans can only hope that JJK showcases his incredible growth rate in the upcoming chapters as well.
