What’s the Post-Credits Scene About?

Unfortunately, for the Marvel fans expecting a bombshell of a drop in the post-credits scene, there’s not much that happens. The scene is just about15 seconds longand doesn’t have too much to offer in terms of hints for thefuture of the Guardians and the MCU.

Thepost-credits scene forThe Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Specialis simply a fun little scene with Rocket and Cosmo putting all kinds of Christmas decorations on Groot as if he was an actual Christmas tree (heismade out of wood, so it makes sense). After getting tired of holding all the decorations and being used, Groot puts his arms down by his side, knocking the decorations off himself. This leads Rocket to say something along the lines of: “Now we’re gonna need another special,” breaking the fourth wall and referring to the actual holiday special they are currently part of onDisney +.

Of course, there’s not another holiday special for the guardians currently in the works, as far as fans are aware, but there is another adventure to look forward to with the intergalactic crew. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3is slated to launch on June 28, 2025, as part of the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. James Gunn is writing and directing, as he did with the first two Guardians films. However, this upcoming film will most likely be thelast time Gunn will be working on an MCU project, as the filmmaker was hired by Warner Bros. to become the co-chairman of DC Studios.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Specialis now streaming exclusively on Disney Plus.
