To make white paint, the playerneeds to have accessto the Church and the Church basement, but that doesn’t mean that the Church needs to be unlocked. Clear out the debris in the main house’s basement or the morgue to clear the tunnels that provide private access to the cellar for the clergy.
Uses For White Paint
The Gravekeeper is also in charge of the local place of worship, and like a proper medieval setting, the church and the churchyard are the same places. After the initial stage to tidy up the neglected graves, the Bishop not only tasks the Gravekeeper with continued improvements to the graves and now a new project, improving the Church.

Once the protagonist has access to the Church basement, they can start building study and crafting stations related to Theology and Alchemy. This isn’t only where the white paint is made but also where it’sused as an ingredientin other recipes.
The player doesn’t have to wait for the Bishop to officially open the church before they can access the basement and start building furniture, but at that point, technical knowledge will be limited.
