Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut Could Create a Resurgence for Legends Mode
The biggest factor at work towards revitalizing the multiplayer is simple timeliness.Legendswasn’t included in the originalGhost of Tsushimaat launch. Rather, the multiplayer mode came several months later, launching as a free expansion forTsushimalast October. This meant that many players that might have explored the separate mode more hadalready beatenGhost of Tsushima’s story. The game provided an incredible single-player experience with plenty of replay value, but many players had already moved to other titles before the multiplayer mode dropped. With the rerelease,Legendswill be a part of the total package at launch.
Having the multiplayer included from the jump means that people jumping intoTsushimaon PS5 either for the first time or as a replay will be more likely to engage in the mode. This will likely lead to a much more active playerbase forLegends, which in and of itself could shake up the multiplayer meta. For example, gamers will be able to enable an optional lock-on feature that could satisfy one of the few complaints some players had about combat.

This could help introduce a wave of players that hadn’t been able to enjoy the multiplayer before for challenges with the skill curve.
