Summary

Sucker Punch’sGhost of Tsushimais widely recognized as one of the best games of the last five years, and its reception has only improved over time. Shortly after its release, Sucker Punch addedGhost of Tsushima: Legends, a cooperative multiplayer mode, as an update to the base game and released it separately almost a year later. In 2024, players still return toGhost of Tsushima:Legends, proving its long-lasting appeal and replay value, which meansGhost of Tsushima 2may already have a secret weapon in the first game’s hugely popular multiplayer mode.

WhileGhost of Tsushima 2has yet to be announced, it is more than likely in development. Not only is Sucker Punch arguably financially obligated to release a sequel to the hit action-adventure game, but job listings and rumors have also all but confirmed it. As such, this means that players could also see a sequel of sorts toGhost of Tsushima: Legends.

Ghost of Tsushima 2 May Also Bring a Sequel to Ghost of Tsushima: Legends

AssumingGhost of Tsushima 2is eventually going to happen, it would make sense for Sucker Punch to also release a sequel toGhost of Tsushima: Legendsalongside it. Whether a sequel was introduced as an alternate mode inGhost of Tsushima 2as it originally was in the first game, a separate experience altogether, or both, it would be a worthwhile addition to the game.

There aren’t many arguments that could fare against the case forGhost of Tsushima: Legends 2, especially considering the positive reception of the first game. While it could be argued thatGhost of Tsushima: Legendswas so well-received because it was originally afree update toGhost of Tsushimawith no microtransactions, it was later sold separately for a small price due to its success, justified by being an entirely separate game in a lot of ways. A sequel could capitalize on that success, but it would need to bring new features to the table that set it apart from its predecessor.

What a Sequel to Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Should Include

A Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Sequel Should Include New Classes

For aGhost of Tsushima: Legendssequel to effectively set itself apart from its predecessor, it could do so by including at least one new class. Currently, players can select fromfour classes inGhost of Tsushima: Legends: Assassin, Samurai, Hunter, and Ronin. Each class specializes in a different approach to combat, and while it might seem like every approach is already accounted for, there are others worth considering. As of right now, stealth, melee, ranged, and support are all represented, but there is still room for more.

If aGhost of Tsushima: Legendssequel were to keep its current classes, it could, at the very least, add specializations for each class. For example, perhapsthe Assassin classcould specialize as either a Ninja or a Rogue, with each specialization offering unique skills and abilities. Additionally, a sequel could allow players to select hybrid specializations by letting them select skills from multiple classes.

A Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Sequel Should Include a New Story

A new story would benefit aGhost of Tsushima: Legendssequel as well.Legends' story isn’t necessarily enthralling by any means, as the main highlight of the mode is its gameplay. However, considering what Sucker Punch was able to accomplish withGhost of Tsushima’s story, the developer could probably do the same in a sequel toLegends.

It’s unclear whetherSucker Punchwill include a sequel toGhost of Tsushima: Legendsin the sequel, and perhaps more uncertain than the mainline sequel itself, as even that has yet to be confirmed. Nevertheless,Ghost of Tsushima: Legends 2would likely be welcomed with open arms if the developer chose to move forward with it.
