A new post on theGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit shows the in-game animations ofan upcoming five-star unit named Lyney. His official splash art has previously revealed that he will be a new Pyro user and the gameplay leak confirmed previous rumors about him being a bow user. Fans love the fact that HoYoverse decided to incorporate Lyney’s love for magic in his kit. For example, his Normal Attack sequence makes him spawn a card before firing his last shot. However, players have been complaining that HoYoverse gives the best Normal Attack animations to characters whose kit does not revolve around this attack type.
PreviousGenshin Impactleakshave revealed that Lyney is a DPS character with a playstyle that relies on using the Charged Attack. Lyney’s Charged Attack will have two levels which are determined by the charging time. The first level will fire a regular charged arrow that deals elemental damage to a target. Level 2 will make him create a Grin-Malkin Hat when an opponent gets hit. This will taunt nearby enemies and get their attention which can allow Lyney to reposition himself.
When this hat explodes, it will deal Pyro damage to only one nearby enemy. Lyney’s Level 2 Charged Attack will also make him sacrifice some of his HP to obtain one Prop Surplus stack. The video confirms thatLyney’s Elemental Skill causes an instant explosionwhich will clear all Prop Surplus stacks and deal large amounts of AoE damage that scales with the number of stacks and his ATK.
This means that Lyney’s playstyle could require players to use his Charged Attack to apply multiple Prop Surplus stacks before using his Elemental Skill. Many fans in the comment section claim that Lyney has one of the bestburst animations inGenshin Impactwhich makes him transform into a Grin-Malkin Cat that bounces and deals AoE Pyro damage.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
