There are many weapons for players to find inGenshin Impactfor their party members as they adventure through quests and make wish rolls. While it is commonly agreed that the 5-Star weapons are among the best, there are still plenty of powerful 4-Star weapons for players to use.
Some of these weapons inGenshin Impactcan be obtained via wishes, quests, or even just moving forward in the Battle Pass. Many of them even include special abilities that are capable of turning the tide of battle if equipped with the right character.

Of course, asGenshin Impactgets updatedover time, different weapons have the potential to become better than others. However, as of October 2020, these are the best 4-Star weapons for players to have.
Updated on June 26, 2025, by Nahda Nabiilah: Plenty has changed ever since the initial release of Genshin Impact in September 2020. Many new characters have joined the in-game roster, and with that, a lot of new weapons have come to be obtainable as well. Of course, with the release of new items, there are some shifts among the weapons that are (and were) considered the “best”, so it’s only appropriate for this article to be updated to contain some of the more recent items, especially those that arehighly valued in the Genshin Impact meta. As of version 2.6, here are some of the best 4-Star weapons in the game.
Best 4-Star Swords
There are plenty of popular sword users inGenshin Impact. This includes the player’sTraveler characterand the highly beloved Qiqi alongside characters such as Jean.
Out of the swords players can get, the three best are:
The Black Sword
Refinement Rank 1 effect: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +20. Additionally, regenerates 60% of ATK as HP when Normal and Charged Attacks score a CRIT Hit. This effect can occur once every 5s.
Sacrificial Sword
Refinement Rank 1 effect: After dealing damage to an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40% chance to end its own CD. Can only occur once every 30s.
Blackcliff Longsword
Refinement Rank 1 effect: After defeating an opponent, ATK is increased by 12% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.

Best 4-Star Bow
There is one 4-Star Bow that is considered to be the best out of all of them. This bow would be the Viridescent Hunt. To obtain the Viridescent Hunt, players will need to participate inGenshin Impact’s Battle Passand choose it when unlocking the tier that lets them choose a weapon out of other powerful weapons. Other than that, other popular bows are the Sacrificial Bow and The Stringless.
The Viridescent Hunt
Refinement Rank 1 effect: Upon hit, Normal and Aimed Shot Attacks have a 50% chance to generate a Cyclone, which will continuously attract surrounding opponents, dealing 40% of ATK as DMG to these opponents every 0.5s for 4s. This effect can only occur once every 14s.

Refinement Rank 1 effect: Increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 24%.
Wishes
Best 4-Star Catalyst
There is one 4-StarCatalyst weaponthat players agree to be up there with the 5-Star weapons. This would be The Widsith, and it can only be obtained via wishes in the gacha system. As a character uses The Widsith in battle, they will get one of the following effects:
Other than that, the Battle Pass-premium Catalyst, Solar Pearl, is also an excellent weapon for this type.

Refinement Rank 1 effect: When a character takes the field, they will gain a random theme song for 10s. This can only occur once every 30s.

Refinement Rank 1 effect: Normal Attack hits increase Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 20% for 6s. Likewise, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits increase Normal Attack DMG by 20% for 6s.

Best 4-Star Claymores
Out of the 4-Starclaymore weapons, there are two that are definitely more popular than the rest. These would be:
Serpent Spine
Refinement Rank 1 effect: Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 6% more DMG and take 3% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG.
Blackcliff Slasher
The Serpent Spine has the bonus effect of increasing the damage output of the equipped character. The longer that character stays out on the field in battle, the greater the damage will be. The Blackcliff Slasher meanwhile willboost the character’s attackevery time the character defeats an enemy during a battle. This attack boost can stack up to three times.
Best 4-Star Polearms
Out of all the 4-Starpolearms inGenshin Impact, there are four that are highly popular. These would be:
Deathmatch
Refinement Rank 1 effect: If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 16~32% and DEF is increased by 16~32%. If there are fewer than 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 24~48%.
Blackcliff Pole
“The Catch”
Refinement Rank 5 effect: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 32% and Elemental Burst CRIT Rate by 12%.
Favonius Lance
Refinement Rank 1 effect: CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.
The Deathmatch has a special ability where the equipped character’s attack and defense will be greatly boosted depending on the number of enemies in the field. Meanwhile, theBlackcliff Polewill give the equipped character an attack buff every time they defeat an enemy with the buffs being able to be stacked.
