Developer id Software announced thatDoom Eternalhas beendelayed to 2020. The game was originally scheduled to release on November 22 for the PC, Stadia, and consoles, but now the sequel to 2016’sDoomis set to be launched on July 05, 2025.
Of course, given thatDoom Eternalis one of the most anticipated games of fall 2019, the announcement of the game’s delay is definitely disappointing news to most fans. However, in the lead-up to the game’s release next March, Bethesda has been showcasing some skins and a few other cosmetic items that can be acquired in the upcoming game.

One of the skins that players could look forward to inDoom Eternalis theDoom25th Anniversary Slayer Skin, which sports a grey color. It is currently unknown why Bethesda decided to give the skin a grey color given that the original Doomguy wore green armor. However, the skin is meant to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the franchise and maybe Bethesda decided to go with grey because silver is the traditional 25th-anniversary gift.
It is worth pointing out that the25th Anniversary Slayer Skin is not that easy to acquirein the upcoming game. Players will have to join the Slayer’s Club, which isDoom’sonline fan club. Players will then have to earn the highest-rank of Doom Slayer, which can be achieved by racking up Slayer Points that players accumulate by participating in various activities on the club’s website. This involves reading news updates, taking quizzes, participating in forums, viewing trailers and other videos, and submitting fan art. As of the moment, it is currently unclear how many points a player needs to accumulate to reach the title of Doom Slayer, but given that this is the highest possible rank, it’s likely to be a lot. Players who will be able to reach the Doom Slayer rank will be able to get the skin once the game releases next year.
Meanwhile, players that are excited to play the upcoming game will be happy to know that id Software will offer an optionto makeDoom Eternalmore like the original game. The studio is hoping to achieve this by re-introducing centered weapons, which was featured in earlierDoomgames. This gameplay style doesn’t really exist in first-person shooters anymore, given that developers are aiming for a more realistic experience. To the uninitiated, centered weapons are exactly like what they sound like. The player’s weapon is shown at the bottom center of the screen. This weapon placement was scrapped in modern games to make it more realistic. Nowadays, the weapon appears a little bit on the side just like how it would be if an actual person is holding it.
Doom Eternalis set to release on July 17, 2025, for the PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
