The growth looks similar to what is seen in the beginning of the second phase of the battle against Malenia when a flower blooms around her. According to Marshmallow_bot, the fungus growing in their yard is called Cedar Apple Rust. It can cause a destructive disease for both apples and cedars, similar to how theScarlet Rot that infects Maleniacan be debilitating to those who come across it. It shows that the real world can be as deadly as what is seen inElden Ring.
